I am dismayed at the stick he gets on here, we couldn't wish for a better "Custodian" someone who like us, wants Blackpool FC & the town, to do well.

Im sure he could do without the grief he must be getting, let alone the personal cost.

We could very easily have got an owner looking to asset strip the land & buildings, as well as the playing staff. Ala Bury, Reading, Wigan, Portsmouth, etc etc

I personally would like to thank him for putting up with us,.... all, he is doing what most of us in his position would not have done,.... buy his home town club, & spend his own money trying his best for his home town, (I include all the great work done by the community Trust.)

When he chose each of the managers, he did his best, with the info to hand & his experience, we all hoped each one would work out, & to a degree this season, we have been in & around the playoff battle & still are.... however many clubs would love to be in our position, We cant win them all, even Citeh, with Billions to spend, dont win every week...

So take a step back, look at where we are, and enjoy, ...as best you can,

Things will get better, but they aren't actually bad.

We arnt going to get relegated!!

& give Simon some respect...

Decent post that. People have short memories. Most Blackpool fans I suspect would agree 100 per cent with what you say there.

Whatever industry you are in and if tasked with making decisions there will be people who wont be happy with those decisions.

Whether you are a supervisor at Tescos or a foreman on a building site you will have your critics.

The reality is you cant please everyone all you can do is your best and what you feel is in the best interests of the company.

In relation to the point about respecting Simon I think the overwhelming majority of the fans do respect him . They might not necessarily agree with all his decisions but they respect him for taking us on and the money he is putting in.

Its important not to get bogged down by the few who like to spout crap. I read the other day some clown posted "he's only in it for the money." What money ? He doesnt take any money gives his time for free gets a load of aggro the club makes a loss and he loans the club millions.

I have no issue with SS at all and in no way want him to take anything personally as he's done a lot of really good things. Having said that I think i'm well within my rights to question the managerial appointments and the transfer decisions made over the last 2 or 3 years but that's aimed at the whole board not just him. This actually isn't aimed at Critch being re appointed either as I'm not in the Critch out camp (yet anyway)

GOOD stuff. Would any posters on here actually tell him face to face what they post on herew. Doubt it. This was always likely to happen. After four to five seasons . . So this season has been inconsaistent but how many teams would actually swap places. Quite a few i expect

I don't he gets stick as such. People are allowed to be critical if they see what they see as mistakes.

I'd guess 99% of fans are happy he's here.
I understand criticism, as long as its not vitriol.... some people are downright rude , ignorant & entitled (we are Blackpool FC a medium size town, within 50miles of 4 or 5 of the worlds biggest & most successful teams, defo punching above our weight.

How many times have we been to wembley (Cardiff) over the last 30yrs?, not may Prem sides have been as often as us, so thank you luck stars your not Oldham, Chesterfield, Port Vale et al....

Unfortunately, it goes with the territory and thick skin is needed when joining the footy rat race.
I personally think he's great but he has made mistakes which he is not learning from and is not immune from criticism unfortunately, some of the name-calling will get worse before it gets better because of his latest mistake.

I dont think anyone would argue that . I think Limechase is aiming his comments at those who go way over the top and show a complete and utter disrespect towards SS.

Questioning managerial appointments and transfer decisions is perfectly acceptable imo. Its football we all have our own opinions and its what makes it so engaging.

My problem is with the manager and not the chairman. Yes some bad appointments but no one is perfect.

Super Simon Sadler.

A cert for the year's most obsequious post.

Fans have shown their deep appreciation to Sadler for the club's purchase.

The same goes for his investment to fund a new training ground and east stand

Most renewed season tickets, despite the disliked Appleton and Critchley's returns.

But, add them to the Grayson 2.0 and McCarthy hires, patience has worn out

It transcends many away defeats to castigate wretched football quality.

Apparent readiness by the club's owner to retain the coach strains credulity.

Infrastructure development without pitch success would see mere white elephants.

I think you are missing the point completely. I think we are all in agreement that since he has taken over the club he has cleared up the mess the vermin left it in and through a lot of investment and skill has improved the infrastructure massively. The news on the TG and East stand is really encouraging and we finally look like we will be getting both sooner than anticipated and that is amazing.

BUT, just because he has done that and continues to do that it doesn't make him immune to criticism when the thing supporters care about the most is the football, the manager, the players, the tactics, the entertainment value the atmosphere around the place and whilst he has been so good on the non football side he has been pretty woeful on the football side and just because you think he is beyond criticism doesn't mean that he is.

The manager and players have to take a lot of the blame, predominantly the manager and that is increasing and so the pressure increases on Sadler, and so it should. He has overseen Critchley twice, Grayson, Appleton and McCarthy since he bought the club and apart from the Covid season and part of the first season in the Championship the managers have been truly awful and all in the same vein, turgid, boring plodders who have managed to undo all the good and the great atmosphere that was gained when he took over. This is done to Sadler, no one else. He has also gone through high level employees and other staff pretty quickly so there has been no stability supporting him and from what we are led to believe he doesn't listen to anyone when he has made his mind up (Appleton & Critchley), He has nailed his colours to the mast by endorsing Critchley for next season in his recent interview (very naive in my opinion) and he shouldn't be given a free ride when supporters are bored shitless by the football on offer and the lack of joy around the place.

He needs to know how we feel, you may not think that but you have no right to ask people to stop questioning him, he needs to be challenged, it is healthy, His response to criticism is not great and we tend to get a telling off rather than someone who listens and takes on board some good points from his customers, because the supporters are his customers and he has an obligation to listen to what they say be it good or bad.

I would love to have a couple of beers with him and discuss the club, why not?

so would i . but the vast majority of us are never likely to. he had a one to one with Andy Bayes on BBC Radio Lancs a while back. First time i had actuaclly heard his voice. might still be on bbc sounds
That would be the last time he gave Crotchless the ok to keep things shite🤦‍♂️

It seems like yesterday that the majority of fans were boycotting home games.
It was a great feeling to return to home games.

Now you have a small element of fans wanting to boycott due to Critchley in charge!
Part time fans who make any excuse when we under achieve.

As I said, he is not above criticism, healthy criticism, not the entitled vitriol he gets on here tho.

We all have our opinion on how it could be better, & thats football, but lets be grown up about it.....??

Im sure he's learning on the job, & has used his own business model to bring in appropriate advisors, who all have expertise & advice to give, but if they got it right every time, we'd be in the Prem...

Just need some balance?

I think it's pretty reasonable on here, can't be said for other social media outlets but things are pretty tame on here I think. I don't know anyone who thinks Sadler hasn't done anything bit an amazing job with the club since he took over, how could they, it's just the football bit he hasn't got right yet. He will.

On the whole SS has done a great job for the club and is very much appreciated from a large % of the fanbase.

Some of the appointments he has got wrong but it can't be easy tasked with the job of hiring an firing. I am sure he will learn from each appointment. In hindsight, re-appointing Critch must have felt like the right thing to do considering his first spell but it just does not appear to be working.

I trust SS will make the right call and at the right time when it comes to Critch (hopefully sooner rather than later).

Who wants to boycott? Think I've seen 1 post alluding that on here and they were shot down by everyone but Paulco which just about sums it up!! I'm convinced they were both nobbers btw.

There will always be "fans" who give up when the going gets tough but that's not "boycotting".

I have absolutely no doubt that there will be a complete review of the season . Simon and the board and no doubt the tea lady will have a good look of where we fell short. its pretty obvious that we will not be at Wembers . If we have been really s..te which seems to be the general concesus of opinion on here . then i have no doubt that super simon WOULD do the right thing. Personally its one more season to get us out of League one. i will be there on Tue . probably my last game this season.

Just been looking at the training ground, very impressive for a league 1 club, well done ss, a long time coming
I've always believed it was SS Intentions to finish the ground along with new training ground and sell on for a profit if we ever get back to the Championship i can't blame him.

So can you do us a list of things we CAN talk about on this unofficial football forum?

Or is it just a post to show what a "right on superfan" you are?

Stop being a sycophant, preaching at others and enjoy all the posts for what they are - hot air.

Talk about being full of your own importance.......

Read Hertfordseasider's lengthy post beginning, 'I think you are missing the point completely ...', and it quickly becomes apparent there are a great many reasons behind the growing antagonism the vast majority of fans are starting to feel towards Critchley - and, no, I'm not just talking there about 'part-time fans' who happen to feel disgruntled whenever 'we underachieve'...

Face it, the tide has well n' truly turned against Critch. Time after time, after time, he is going into matches with no discernable gameplan; he sticks doggedly to his beloved 2-5-3; his team selections are often 'all over the shop'; he will often stick with players who offer absolutely nothing, and then 'fall out' with certain individuals (for whatever reason), only for them 'never to be seen again'. Sorry - but the whole situation is just becoming farcical.

To avail yourself of a judgement call which best describes our position, read on; in short, Critchley is not only getting things wrong, he is getting things 'disastrouly wrong'. I know the gesture was laced with irony, but, even so, as he left the pitch after our last home match, to be seen 'applauding' home fans as they, in turn, proceeded to 'greet' you with cat-calls and a general tirade of verbal abuse, really is a desparate indictment of how bad the situation has now become.

Still, no matter how bad the situation becomes, at least Critch now knows he can always rely on Grahamwhatshisname for his unwavering support ... Time to smell the coffee, fellow Seasiders.

Wake up. We’re in league one. No new training ground, no new stand and not looking like we’re getting out of league one anytime soon if we keep doing what we are doing.

You talk about not asset stripping. In just under five years the club owes Sadler over nineteen million pounds. He may well have good intentions but he needs to shape up and fast or we know where those good intentions will lead us.

Just been looking at the training ground, very impressive for a league 1 club, well done ss, a long time coming
My worry is that we're a league 1 club in need of serious investment on the playing side right now.
Will this be detrimental to the playing budget on top of being an additional £30m of club debt.

That's why I will still get a season ticket because we are lucky to have a decent club to support.

🎶He's one of our own, he's one of our owwwwwwwn. Simon Sadler, he's one of our own🎵

I wonder if Si was watching this shite from the old west paddock what he'd be saying to his mates during and after the match?

The fact that he now owns the club means he has the final decision on whether Critchley stays or goes.

He may be happy with this season.
He may be pissed off with what Critchley has served up.
Only Sadler and Critchley will know for certain what's going on between them.
However, Simon should not be free from criticism.

I'll be eternally grateful to Simon for what he's done for our club and continues to do so. The football however this season has been turgid possibly some of the poorest I've witnessed as a Blackpool fan.

However this is Blackpool we're Blackpool fans and we're never happy unless we're in a promotion or relegation fight and without the low's I really don't think you appreciate the highs as much. Said as much to a work colleague who is a City/Stockport fan - He's quit going to City, I actually think he's bored but started back at Stockport ...

Simon deserves our support not sure that Critchley does but I'm sure a decision will be made by next season one way or another - I'll be back to season ticket in hand 24/25 hopefully watching us fight for promotion or at least be entertained with some decent on pitch stuff ...
