Simon Sadler's decision making

Don't get me wrong I am a big fan of Simon Sadler, I believe he has the club at heart and he has certainly invested in the club. He strikes me as a clever and articulate man which means I am absolutely shocked by the appointment of Michael Appleton. Why would the head of a business make an appointment that none of his customers want. The whole point of running a business is to make a profit, so why alienate the majority of your customers. We have already seen several posts where supporters say they will not renew. It appears Simon was aware of the feelings on social media and he seems to have discounted supporters feelings. I am sure any head of HR would see this as a massive blunder. It also raises the question of just how in tune he is with his core support. Surely he must know we have had Appleton before and he ditched us. Surely he must know that appointing a knobber is never going to go down well. From a strategic sense it also appears to be a blunder. Most new managers usually have half a season before disquiet rears its ugly head if results do not go well. We will be going into a season with the seeds of discontent already there. Two defeats and he will already be under pressure. I actually quite feel sorry for Appleton. I would hate to start a new job knowing that nobody wants me there.

I'm fairly certain you don't get to be a success in life by blindly following the crowd.

Most supporters aren't that bothered in truth. Everyone has their favourites but if the results follow then so does everything else.

If you're the sort of person that's waiting for a couple of bad performances before unleashing your inner toddler then maybe you should just stay away until things improve.

Have you taken a survey of the whole fan base? You have to respect the decision that has been made and give the new Head Coach your support. Every appointment carries some risk. IMO Liam Rosenior would have been a much bigger gamble both for him and for us. I've not heard anything yet about who his assistants are going to be. It may well be that we start with Garrity & Brunskill but it could change as it did with Critchley.

I for one am not going to question Simon Sadler’s decision making. You don’t get Tyne a multi millionaire, especially in the industry he’s in if you make bad decisions

Some of the criticisms I've heard..

'Hes a nobber'

He played for them, he's actually from Salford and a utd fan, maybe has a family connection to nobbers, so what.

Hes made the biggest move a nobber wouldn't do and come to Blackpool.

'He left us'

Yes he did...

But he didn't know much about the oystons, imagine the shock to the system.

"You look at them now and they’re a totally different club,” rues Appleton, alluding to the Seasiders’ 2019 takeover which concluded 32 years of Oyston ownership. “I just made a poor judgement. I didn’t do proper research on the Oystons, particularly Karl, who to this day is the most difficult man I’ve ever worked with. I could never get hold of him, and he wasn’t willing to have sensible conversations. I found him to be very disrespectful, but I was in such a rush to get out of the environment I was in – and I could never be sure I’d keep my job at Portsmouth anyway, if new owners took charge of the club.”

'Hes not very good'

Did very well at Lincoln and but for the best playoff side ever hed have taken them up.

The season after he was battling cancer and they lost a lot of their better players.

'His demeanour is bad'

It isn't actually, comes across well.

I agreed it would be better to get someone in who the fans were behind that sells ST. But clearly they think he's the right fit and people need to get a grip.

Simon is committed to this club and is not going to appoint him unless they see something in him, especially given the know childish reactions.

They must really believe in him and if they do we should too.
