So we lose a game against a top team

we lost a game against a team that might have been a PL team recently but would be run through week in week out if they played like they did today in the PL. they gave ball away almost as much asx we did. Despite their spending they still are not much more than a mid table championship side. Difference today was they had a coach who could see something needed to change.
They are 3rd in the league

Are you on crack?

The writing was on the wall after the reaction at Wigan away. No way back from that whatever.

Even if we beat Huddersfield next week and have a bit of a run it won’t be enough for some.

It’s what happens if he does go that concerns me. Eric Ramsey? 😵‍💫🙃
I want Appleton to go...But a 30yr set piece coach is not the way forward.. We need someone like Mark Warburton or similar imo, even if it's just till the end of the season

We drew the game didn't we?

Ffs...

Preston away in our Derby was miles worse than anything I've seen this season
Appleton's credibility is on the same trajectory as yours. You have made your bed. In simple terms. You are the Titanic and Appleton is a big, fat, cold, white iceberg waiting to drag you down to the bottom of the Atlantic with him.

I won't let go Jack

Away from home who have parachute payments and a wage budget 3 times bigger than ours

Yet its the managers fault

I don't think I've read as much nonsense on this site in my life *

*well maybe when people were defending the Oystons*

Do people honestly think a couple of new signings can change things straight away?

Watford away ffs ....

It will take time and we have 19 games left

In the words of the great Ian Holloway "chill out and have a sandwich"
Okay... so we shouldn't beat teams with a bigger budget than us... so you're happy with beating Rotherham, Wigan and Luton all season...?

Simple facts are, you're in a minority of those who want him to stay.

Unfortunately Sadler and Mansford are in that delusional group.

I think we may have got something out of the game today as we held then for over the hour mark. I've already said I would have had Yates & Gaz on from the start with JB or CJ having a half each & why on earth was Trybull on the bench if he wasn't to be used at all. We had 3 unused options to shore up the midfield today in KD TT & CC (by using Lyons) Even before they scored most of us could see that was the time to make a few subs. I've tried to be reasonable with my view on Appleton but todays starting 11 & lack of obvious subs was very poor. I really couldn't care if he was sacked tonight, I think Phil could do a better job. So Simon if you are reading this.........

I have tried to support Appleton, but in answer to your question Phil, no he didn't start his best eleven and certainly didn't help himself.

Carey, Patino combo may work against an unmotivated Forest reserves, but this is the Championship. You don't rate Dougall, fine. Tom T not fit fine. You've got Lyons a right back, how about Patino and Connolly. Yates deserved a start today down the middle, plain and simple. Maybe we would have played more football if he did.

We can't compete financially with Watford, but we can help ourselves by picking our best eleven.

Nobber here.

You fancy Appleton or something? Every single post you’re defending him. Quite clear the bloke hasn’t a ** clue and is completely out of his depth.

Obviously, I’m enjoying your struggles (and I’m sure you all laughed at our shitshow today) but climb out of his arse. He’s taking you down.

Hopefully Sadler/Mansford only realise that once it’s too late though.

To be fair none us know if Lyons is ready, especially as he would have been against the 20 million pound rated Sarr

The German wasn't fit and Poveda got injured so yeah he didn't play his best team

Did the Manager even have a conversation with our Right Back and Right Midfielder, let alone practice any basic patterns of play this week?

The last time I’ve seen us that disorganised on that side was when Corbeanu made his debut and tried to trip Bowler up.

What do we do all week?

What I don't understand with all this nonsense again tonight is that to me CJ and Carey were our worst players today, along with probably Connolly who didn't lay a glove on any of the Watford front 2 or attacking mids

All three have had glowing reports and praise on this very board for the last few weeks

Weird stuff .......

It doesn't make sense how you can so staunchly defend a man who has led us to 4 points from a possible 30 either.
The season isn't over infact it's just gone the half way stage

We have only played a couple of sides twice

And like I've said many times we have been in virtually very single game

Long way to go

Nah, midfield is the problem and based on last week, Lyons would do fine. He clearly doesn't rate Dougall, TT isn't fit and Connolly would be a good part time fit. Like Husband no matter where he plays never let's us down. With Rogers and Bowler in the team and again after last week's cameo, Yates had to start.
He made an absolute bollocks of it today.

My debut post on here, and no i'm not a Preston fan. I saw the whole match, and sadly it's probably fair to say that we could have been playing until midnight and we still wouldn't have created a goal-scoring chance. We're at the foot of the table and surely, given the circumstances, we need to be attacking teams and looking to scrap for 3pts. Today we offered very little at all, we lost possession so easily, we kept passing to yellow shirts, Maxwell was all over the place, Bowler and Rogers kept getting in each others way, Madine was isolated, CJ ineffective, and our midfield was non-existent. Appleton failed to change the players early enough, we needed subs after 60 mins - and i've read several posts on here that keep claiming Watford are a top team so therefore there's no shame to losing to them, which in itself is true , but boy oh boy, they were waiting to be defeated. They offered nothing, had no clue in the final third, and a decent Blackpool side would have won. On paper, our starting eleven looked pretty decent, but on grass, we looked disjointed, ineffective, neutered in attack and barely able to put anything for than 3 or 4 passes together before we turned the ball over.

I'm resigned to us being relegated, i can't see any way out of it - and defeat next week will kill us off. My main worry is, once we are in League One, how can Appleton be trusted to take us forward. He stands on the touchline offering nothing, impassive, disinterested almost, and shows little or no passion at all.

Our squad has little or nothing in terms of forward planning and development. Our best players are loanees, and our contracted players are largely injury-prone absentees. We've got ourselves in a right old mess and i don't see Appleton as the way out.

If we go down Appleton won't be charge 100% he will go and so he should

But whilst he is with us he needs support

It's bizarre that he's getting dogs abuse for losing away at Watford, it was 0.0 for over 70 minutes

By all means slag him for Boro and Hull at home or Rotherham away but not today

Yes it was 0-0 for over 70 minutes, and without Watford scoring it would have been 0-0 for 7000000 minutes. We offered nothing and we were set up to draw the game. A point isn't enough for us these days. Appleton isn't a gambler, he won't throw caution to the wind, he won't take a risk even. We're sedate and ineffective. He needs to change his approach or we'll be relegated.

Jerry should have started the game. Jerry should start every game. I don’t care what you think of Dougall, you don’t field two attacking mids and hope it somehow works just because you think your one DM is mediocre. Particularly not when it hasn’t worked in two ** months.

He is a shit manager. It’s that simple. Mystery is over, and looks like our place in the Championship is too.

sorry Phil but he’s ** clueless wake the fuck up ur backing of him is farcical
I'm not backing him I'm backing the club

There is absolutely nothing to suggest a new manager could do any better with the hand that Appleton has been dealt

On paper the new signings should massively improve us, but it will take a bit of time

Bowler and Rogers for example didn't look as sharp as they should be due to a lack of football

Will take time, today isn't a game to judge the manager on

A point would have been fine today

Dobbie hasn't even been a manager for more than a few months!!!!! Surely we need to do better than that?
I'm not after the best manager in the world, I just want someone who isn't Appleton, gets the club and will have the fans back onside. Give him a chance, he can't be any worse!

A point would have been fine today
But their manager reacted, made changes and got the result their performance deserved. They were poor and there for the taking but no one can argue they didn't deserve the 3pts. All whilst our pleb faffed about getting our top scorer on and see the blatantly obvious issues in midfield and the fact Rogers was goosed. Unexcusable from your bum-chum.
