Remember Rufous Hound making similar jibes about Peter Kay and the north. Not heard much from him lately.
To be fair, he is right, you wouldnt surprise your missus with a romantic getaway to Rotherham. But you might go to the lakes or forest of bowland etc
Similarly down south, you go Cornwall or Cotswolds but wouldnt go to Southend, Margate, Croydon, Swindon, Reading, Northampton, Rushden, Canvey Island, Luton............
