Watched it live on BBC news. on tik tok. Absolutely mindblowing to imagine what was happening all those miles away. the presenters were really good at describing this once in a life time event. Never heard the word corona used in the context of the moon. Anyone else follow it live. Next one is due in 2044. Dont worry Blackpool peeps . THEM lot will still be in the Championship.

I don't know for sure but I think the positioning of our moon in relation to the Earth and the Sun, means that it is the only moon/planet relationship that results in the Sun being precisely blotted out when viewed from the parent planet during an eclipse. Further out and planetary moons might more than cover the small sun. When Mercury eclipses the Sun it appears as nothing more than a tiny speck against the vastness of the Sun.

Did anyone see how the MAGA mentalists were portraying this eclipse as a sign from God that the 'End of Days' was about to happen?

For those that pray at the alter...."End of Days" depicts the end of time as a period of tribulation that precedes the second coming of Christ, who will face the rise of the Antichrist along with his power structure and false prophets, and usher in the Kingdom of God.
Tribulation includes....War between the great nations.....Earthquakes...Pestilence & Hunger (The 4 Horsemen) and the time when Israel is brought to it's knees by war.

For those of the Jewish faith...It's the gathering of the exiled Jewish diaspora (formation of the true Isreal) and expulsion of the 'non' Jews through war.

For Muslims it's...the appearance of the Masīḥ, and this is followed by the descending of ʿĪsā (Jesus), who will triumph over the false Messiah who is spreading 'untruth' and 'lies'
This defeat will lead to a sequence of events that will end with signs in (the) sun and moon' and the beginning of the Qiyāmah (Judgment Day).

If you're a Viking.....The start of Ragnarok begins with a 'solar eclipse' across 'new lands'

So don't worry.....
Even if we lose to Fleetwood......It's the end of the World as we know it.......so chill out, because in the grand scheme of things...were all f##ked
