Sonny Carey

He's often played well alongside Dougall, even in the championship. I'm honestly amazed that so many were writing him off so soon, he's clearly a very capable player. Just needed some time to build his confidence back after a really damaging season last time out.
Well said my friend

Been frustrated so often sticking up for him. Carey, Dougall and CJ get so much stick from big parts of our support. I'm loving that they are all eating humble pie right now!

Dougall and CJ have always been quality in this league. Surprised it took so long for our fans to realise that. Critchley should have picked Dougall from the very start as well.

Some of us, at the start of the season, said we expected a good season from Sonny. He's now starting to show that promise. Husband and Dougall are currently way ahead in the player of the season stakes but there's a long way to go and if Sonny can continue this good form there's no reason why his hat shouldn't be in the ring come the end of the season! Let's hope it is because performances like today will help put us in a very good position come May!

I'm beginning to believe he can be not just a regular but also an influential part of our season. Previously he has felt like a luxury and even a liability. He played with a lot more responsibility and confidence today and was more than worth his place next to our player of the season so far, Kenny Dougall.

The difference I am seeing is at last we are SHOOTING. getting the goals and deflections. You ain't going to score if you don't SHOOT !!!¡!!!!!

That is bang on. Shoot if it opens up rather than endlessly rotate the ball in search of the perfect opportunity

I was thinking that. I wonder if it's Rhodes' influence, especially on the training pitch. He's happy to let fly as soon as he gets a sniff, maybe it's encouraging others to do the same.

Yes, if you shoot, things happen. The encouraging think is we have at least three players who can get a good snap shot off now. Dembele, Sonny and - dare I say it - CJ. That's without including Rhodes 👍

On the old ground we had a coloured board behind each goal which was the width of the goals.
It was mooted that when you saw the coloured board you could shoot from any distance and hopefully score. No idea if it worked.
