Squad

The FL had a policy last season of not releasing these lists, or at least certainly not immediately. I think the lists following the January window were released weeks and weeks after the window had closed, whilst the 'summer' lists were never released.
 
So, what in effect does a non-squad player do? We saw Bez was training again last week - highly unlikely to feature alongside Nuttall, Sarkic and Howe and so what is their day to day existence?

I would presume a light training session away from the 1st Team followed by golf, shopping or walking the dog! Sounds a bit too easy for me!!!

I saw Nuttall was also doing some exercise with Demi the other day. So I imagine they just train and try and keep themselves fit? Make up the numbers in training for certain exercises?
 
It would be interesting to know whether the manager has named a 25 or 24 man squad. If the latter it leaves room to bring in an out of contract player!

Could Critch name a 24 man squad then add one of our contracted players at a later date if we needed it (I hope we don't)? Or can you only add newly contracted players after the cut off date?

Someone mentioned on another thread that you can do that, add a player if you’ve space. Presumably so if you have a couple injured you can add the one who gets fit first?
 
Yes I do think it would be good to know. It would fuel (or dampen) any speculation as to how to fill the gaps in the squad.

We need something to do during international breaks 😉

He did exactly that last season with Dougall and Stewart, both who turned out to be very good signings!
 
I see a 22 man squad has been announced, leaving a possible 3 others to be brought in, although Madine will almost certainly be added at a future date if he ever gets fit!
