Hi everyone,

Last night was the 100th Anniversary of the birth of the Great Stan Mortensen. I was asked to film this event for you all to see. I hope that it makes you all proud. What a fantastic event organised by Chris Hull and a big thank you to The Armfield Club for hosting the night after the ceremony and to Peter Gillatt for making such an amazing film which you can watch in it's entirety.

This one is for you Dad I hope that you, Jimmy and Morty are watching x

Well done Lee. I was there last night and it was very special. Bless you for capturing it all.
Thanks it was wonderful and I hope that I've done my little bit to help the memory of Stan Mortensen live on. I just hope the younger generation get to see this and can continue him on.

My dad was at the final in 1953 and I grew up listening to his stories and names like Ernie Taylor, Eddie Shimwell, Harry Johnston, Stanley Matthews, Morty, George Farm, Cyril Robinson are household names to me

Hope this video gets seen for a long time and hope that it gets shared by Blackpool fans everywhere

Great work that - the stuff Peter Gillett did was great Not seen some of that previously
TG was on good form as well
Thanks Tim and agree Peter did an excellent job. I never knew Jimmy Armfield was so funny and yet his joke about himself one day being known as "The late Jimmy Armfield" was so poignant and brought a tear

Tony Green was amazing and I would have to give Chris Hull an extra mention for preparing him well for it. 🙂

Thank you Lee. That was absolutely outstanding. Thanks for my video you did for me in 2019 always to be appreciated. The photograph with Stanley Mortensen, which was taken outside his Sports Shop in Lytham Road in 1954 brought memories flooding back from a different era.
Having also met many players over the years, these memories will stay with me forever.
Best wishes to all on Sunday.

Hope to see you all again sometime.
A lovely Club!

What a great video you have produced Lee. Well done.
Stan’s wife Jean was my 3rd cousin, although I never met her.
My Gt. Grandfather William Walsh and Jean’s Gt. Grandmother Elizabeth Walsh were brother and sister. Their brother Robert Walsh played for South Shore and Blackpool.
A Real Marton and South Shore family.
