Start with same midfield

I do like Weir and Morgan, I think they will do well for us.

I’m sure they can play from the start but your right they will need to impose themselves more.

I think the experience of yesterday’s midfield made a massive difference.

Morgan and Carey still have a lot to learn but do have potential.

I thought the midfield was good but equally it was very good against Wigan too with different players. We will have to see about Dougall whether he's fit also after going off.
For me i think the shape was better yesterday more so than the individuals and the midfield 3 were tighter so it was more competitive in there too.
I'm not a Virtue fan or particularly Dougall either but I'd have no desire to change the first 11 as it was workmanlike and gave us a good base to play off.
Did go off the boil when Carey came on and then more so when Dale went off too as the midfield wasn't as tight and the width kind of went too.
Critch will change it though 100% 😂.

That‘s one of the most sensible things I’ve read on here in a very long while 👌
Thank you. Lala. 😆

It does my head in tbh. People write a whole load of stuff one week and then a totally different load of stuff the next. And then return to the first stuff like it never happened. Wigan - Wycombe - Reading.

Seasons have phases. We are in what you might call the emergent phase. Teams emerging out of pre season training and summer transfer window. Trying olayers and systems and producing largely unpredictable outcomes.

What do we know from the first 8 games?

- We are pretty good at the back
- Penno Casey and Hubby all look comfortable
- We are pretty good at home. (11/15).
- Struggling away from home (1/9) but only 2 poor games really. Maybe one as Wycombe was 1-1!
- We havent sorted midfield out fully yet
- Rhodes will get goals
- We need two attacking wide players
- Kouassi had a promising debut
- Beesley needs to improve his goal threat
- Hubby is hugely under rated
- We have Joseph Gabriel Dembele Lyons and Lavery to add to the current mix.
- Carey Weir Morgan Dale are all developing players who exhibit strengths and weaknesses and aren't quite regular starters. Weir the closest prob. I'm not sure what the best positions are for the other 3. What are they? Needs sorting.

Just to add to your list:

- we inexplicably go off the boil in the last 25 minutes of games.

We would all be best advised to say nowt when the team is announced an hour before kick off and wait til after the game to kick off!

Good on you voyeur, idiots on here lurch from one extreme to the next after every result. I think we will lose at Oakwell, our away form is crap and Barnsley are a good side. We will come good though at some point and may make the play offs come May 2024.

If we lose on Saturday, the extremes will be back - are Blackpool fans the most toxic in the country? (what the fuck was that based on?), Sadler get out of the club with your plan of managed decline (really?? Jesus wept), Critchley has had his day, bin him after 6 games and 1 defeat (and bring Dobbie in eh and fuck him off too if he has a crap start, cracking way to establish stability at the club). I doubt we will go up this year. Oxford, Barnsley, Wycombe have all been knocking at the door the last few seasons and haven't managed it. We need to build, be patient, and let the project play out.

We all could see the issue, Connelly at LWB is a daft idea ffs. The rest of the shyte that comes out is laughable.

We might indeed lose at Barnsley. We might not. What we need is progress. Which won't be linear. We are clearly progressing and as fans we need to see the direction of travel. I think we can see improvement in defence, midfield and attack.

I'd take a point now. Always think take a point off the best sides in the league away from home and that's 2 points you're denying them.
I think we'll have our tails up - first goal is crucial.

Barnsley will beat us? What planet are you on? Did you see us play their last time ? They were rubbish. My biggest fear is Critch changing a winning team
Connelly love in? Please not.
Let's batter them like last time UTMP!!!

Best sides dont lose 3 out of 5 home games.
