Stewards

Seems to me a number of people operating inside the ground today throwing people out. These were not wearing yellow tabards identifying themselves as official stewards employed by the club.
Neither were they wearing badges indicating they were licensedby the local authority as per door staff

Its a very strange situation imo.
And if it carries on in the manner it did today it can only lead to unecessary trouble.

This is football not crown green bowling.

Was that at HT as l believe MM was getting pelters from the tartan clad Wurthers throwers in the West?

Lad in L block. Voicing an opinion towards mcarthy and the bouncer types got him brought him.down and despite the lad saying I'm not resisting he was dragged out.
This isn't a nightclub where bouncers have easy target in pissed up punters, it's a football match where tensions run high and won't be long before those rough house tactics result in slaps being given back

Wouldn't have happened in the North. This is a bad look.

Atmosphere in the North always looks amazing while some of us in the West try to recreate it.
Dad took me to my first Pool game in 1969; now he is 84 I take him in an area more suited to his years.
What is disappointing from our view is how quickly the North empties when thing are not going well.
Yet nobody mocks them. Spent my childhood years on the KOP (aka North) so a little respect please.

Regarding the new suited bouncers; they first appeared some months ago I presume to protect the coaching staff.
The one who looks like Brian Blessed seems to be in charge and spends all game staring at the crowd.
Yesterday there were more of them and his communication system suggests there was backup if needed.
I don't condone violence but a part of me wanted to see one of them get a slap, and it will eventually happen.

PS - Neither of us have tartan blankets, flasks or Werthers 🤣

It’s easy pickings in the west knowing no one will do anything.
Would love to see them try this in the north.

I confronted one of them after i saw them throw the podcast presenter out (i think they threw him out they certainly barreled him down to the concourse)
Oddly they didn't fancy taking on someone thier own size and age!

I am sure that even if employed directly by the club they should have some form of id on them ,like the security do on there arms,if not then surely this is wrong as if someone tried to grab me or others we could think we are being assulted and try to defend ourselves,

I sit just behind the dugout and had a visit to my seat from two of the aforementioned ‘bouncers’ after hurling a torrent of abuse at MM from my seat yesterday. It was just after another Maxwell error when the crowd were quiet. It was over picking Maxwell and not Grimmy yet again. They said something about I’m not allowed to abuse the manager. There were 6 of them at one point and several stewards protecting the home dugout.

Quite a few fans tried to get close to the dugout including John off the podcast who seemed to be manhandled. It’s getting to something when we’re having to do this.

The guy in charge has a bald head, standing between the two dugouts and spends the entire game looking at the crowd, then speaking into his mike to his team, who then make a beeline to fans who are misbehaving. He’s a ‘spotter’.

They're employed by the club and are the lot who do the doors in Poulton the chap in the middle with the bald head is a decent guy the other two who are generally there are not. There was a spot of bother a few weeks ago with a guy who was out of order trying to cross dugouts, it all got a bit leary and out of hand and I witnessed an innocent guy getting thumped by one - Surprised he didn't press for an assault charge I would have, they're doing more harm than good and whilst perhaps not looking for trouble they appear too happy to get involved and escalate beyond what is needed .. As others have said it's not a night club it's a football game and opinions are aired, it's not a good look by the club and yet another over reaction and poor decision, they'll cause more trouble than they stop...

Maybe drop Steve an email? - slo@blackpoolfc.co.uk
The club need to be aware of the concerns before this escalates or somebody gets injured.
If they are door security staff (doormen), which it appears from posters that they are, they'll be registered with the SIA and when on duty they must by law display their SIA license (usually on their upper arm).

Ah Lan, you obviously never saw a match between Norcross and Ashdell back in the 80-90s. Very feisty.
