STOP THE BOATS

I just don’t get how they can’t be stopped and turned around within minutes of setting off. Why can’t the government simply deploy more coastguard and or military boats to patrol the channel close to to France?

If this Rwanda joke of an idea ever gets off the ground there is a danger it could become another Israel in the future.

The whole thing is utterly bizarre.

Probably for the same reasons that there's a housing crisis and that there's 8 million people waiting for a procedure on the NHS.

Been saying the same thing for over a year now.

We’re spending hundreds of millions on Rwanda and we’re giving the French 50+ million a year (made at least 2 payments to my knowledge) to help police their beaches really? 🤷‍♂️

Someone told me on here it’s illegal to take them back to France once we pick them up mid channel really? So why do we do it? I’m not talking about in an emergency that’s a totally different thing but their illegally trying to enter the country in the first place but people seem to overlook that. 🤷‍♂️

We should be challenging the laws at sea if that’s the case and not trying to get the Rwanda bill through Parliament and human rights at the cost of hundreds of millions of pounds.

And as for paying the French to patrol their beaches it’s pathetic it really is.

For the millionth time........

Open an immigrataion centre in Northern France, as has been offered many times. Process everyone over there, take away the ability of people trafficers to have the sole way of getting to the UK. Use intelligence with the French to go after the smugglers, just as if they were drug smugglers.

We quite happily manage to stop small boats in the Red Sea, but not closer to home.

It's as if it suits the Government to manufacture outrage and create pantomime villains out of immigrants as someone to blame and deflect from the rest of their shit show.

You have to stop those ones as they have armed pirates on board so a slight difference I’d say. 😉

And now Sunak is bleating about the Lords obstructing the democratic will of the people. I think he'd find that if democracy were put into action via a General Election, it would be him and his rag-tag bag of failures that 'the people' would be willing the country to be rid of.

If there are easy solutions like immigration centres in France or turning boats around, I’m sure the government here and in France would have taken those options. If it is that easy, it just doesn’t make sense to spend millions on other options.

Where was the democratic will of the people when we've had two unelected PMs including him? A tiny minority of Tory Party members put them in power with a complete disregard to the thoughts of the other 66 million of us living here.

I saw the UK Statistics Authority called out Sunak and his cronies this morning for declaring a total pack of lies in relation to immigration backlogs being fully cleared when they simply are not.

Sunak even had the bare faced cheek to state that all backlogs were cleared as promised on his Twitter.

It's really unbelievable. They don't even try to hide their lies anymore.

Some nonsense about the backlog at the time of his election being cleared, ignoring the backlog built up since. The pathetic thing is plenty will believe these Goebbelsesque tales.

House of Lords should have been dissolved hundreds of years ago and nearly was.
It was kept on as a relic which was always aware it was archaic and undemocratic.
Somewhere along the line it started to wield it's power again.
Regardless of governing party or individuals in power the Lords is just wrong.
Look at some of the donuts who are given peerages and even worse those that inherit them.
Not comfortable with individuals having influence over legislation because they were born into the right family.
It's not a political stand point it's just seems wrong in principle in a modern society.

Yes, there are some time wasters in the HoL.

But the Commons is for political knockabout. This Bill will be forensically shredded in the Lords. That is their job, they do it well and I expect this will be no different.

Wait until some of these pantomime villains turn out to be terrorists/extremists and cause mayhem on Blighty..... it will happen without a shadow of a doubt.

Then the wokerati will be eating their words.

Couldn’t agree more, they’re not my peers, jobs for the boys, nepotism, as you say archaic.

As opposed to the IRA for 30 plus years. Who are the wokerati? Brainwashed by nonsense in the media with a vested interest in keeping this corrupt lot in power.

The media all owned by non doms telling you its foreigners ruining the country. Oh the irony.

Bearing in mind the amount of migrants and terrorist incidents under Bliars tenure, irony with your comment is rather apt.

Wokerati...read...Do-gooders

I'm less worried about people doing good than the evil ones personally.
Fair point, but we will have some real problems with some of them eventually.

Tories have been totally inept with checking this influx, and security and the law in general under them has been shocking.

Mind you, heaven help us with Lego Head when he gets into power.

So the Party of Law and Order are anything but.

Do they have any redeeming features?

So why do I keep being sent stories about British women being terrorised on the streets of their towns? Here is just one email I got last week from a Telegraph reader in Staffordshire. “The situation with the migrants in Cannock is dire,” writes Jenny, “Women cannot go out on the streets alone, especially at night. The males gather around school gates and follow the girls and they follow the women around in gangs. They do not speak English which makes their behaviour all the more alarming. When the police are called, they arrive in their cars, place the men in them then drive them back to where the illegal migrants are living.

“This happens daily. Locals have written to the council and MPs and the outcome is that anyone who is worried about this is invited to sessions with police who tell them there is nothing to be done and that the indigenous population have to alter their behaviour so as not to cause upset among the migrant population. Women are advised not to go out alone in the evening and be mindful of the way they are dressed.”

Will they f***.

So with your post with the attached news article, are you actually agreeing its a problem/potential problem?

Also my post was more directed to terrorism, although its blindingly obvious there are other issues with them prevalent.

Yes fair point LS, totally agree.

My point as I alluded to was that we will be subject to terrorist attacks sometime in the future, more so than the threat level we are subjected to nowadays.
But Lost has called for the forcible deportation of all Palestinians from Gaza.

How will you feel when they end up here?

Hardly see any current information regarding those attempting to come on lorries, in containers, trains. There used to be loads of males trying those routes. Is that still the case?

Probably a fair few trying that, we had that case back in 2019 where 39 died, although that border seems to be a bit tighter these days, and the ones trying that route seem to disappear into the black economy, so are less visible.

I am not sure if this is true or not, but a neighbour was telling me that the security on the lorries/ferries with CO2 detectors, and I think potential prosecution of drivers? has massively helped create the small boat situation. Still a lot of issues with the lorry/ferry route, but most refugees transferred into the hands of the small boat traffickers?

And be replaced with a party who will welcome even more migrants ! Sounds a plan that one

Wonder what we could spend the £8 million a day on instead of housing migrants who have no right to be here and who are probably pushing legit people down the ladder !!!

~£3bn p/a, how many junior doctors are there?

Edit:

Just checked, about 75,000, do we think an extra £40,000 each would solve the dispute?

With regard to the 'Boat People', if they are sent to Rwanda don't 'we' have to pay Rwanda to keep them?
Why not meet the boats, tow them back to the European beach which they came from, push them off and take the boats
out and sink them.
Alternatively we could sell the boated in the UK.
Also there must be a gang who make money out of the 'Boat People.
Why don't the EU countries where they start from Belgium, France ??, do something about it?
I bet they're only too happy to help them on their way to the UK.

Said exactly the same Dave 12 months ago but was told it’s illegal to take them back to where they set off from that’s why they are picked up and brought back here for processing.
Sounds like the millions being thrown at Rwanda we should be challenging the laws at sea and getting them changed because this is both the easiest and cheapest way possible of stopping them and returning them.

Because that's called an invasion.

Here's a thought, why not set up a company in the EU, and pay them to run a rescue service, taking them straight back to France?
