I used to have a copy of "Snuff Rock" but dunno where it has gone.

When I saw this thread title, it made me think of the "Heads Down No Nonsense, Mindless Boogie" record some mates bought in the mid 70's

They had some great songs and saw them a couple of times at Preston Guild Hall in the early 90s but always thought Neds Atomic Dustbin was a strange name.

Another silly name of that era, who I again saw at the Guild Hall, was Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine.

Slaughter and the Dogs were Bowie fans from Wythenshawe - the band’s name came from Mick Robson’s “Slaughter on Tenth Avenue” and Bowie’s “Diamond Dogs”.

Buzzcocks took their name from a quote in the TV series “Rock Follies” (Julie Covington, Rula Lenska) - “What’s the buzz, cock?”

I had that Pete Shelley living in my student house in Manchester for a few weeks in 1978. It was all a bit “Young Ones-ish”.
