Strikers

Is it just be or do our strikers, apart from Jordan Rhodes look like they don't even posses a threat. Rhodes is the only striker we have who makes you think that if he pops up in certain areas of the oppositions box, then we're going to score

Lavery is playing like he's carrying a knock. Two or three times today he had ball at his feet and allowed centre halves to block his shot.

He looks a shadow of the player who used to terrorise defenders with his pace and energy.

He doesn’t look fit. Has lost a yard of pace and seems er, chunky

“Chunky”? Were you looking at Kuassi at the time? He’s going to make a cracking prop forward when he polishes his knocking defenders (was it Brannigan?) out of the way.
Seriously, leave Lavery to get properly fit for the start of next season and give the experience to Kuassi and Joseph to gel for the rest of this season

Lavery didn't even put a challenge in on their big centre half's which is unlike him , we didn't get in to them as much as we should of, it's fine margins though tbh as we could of easily got beat. Ekpiteta with a great block and they hit the post and their keeper made a great save.

Rhodes is a finisher if given the ball in the right area but the rest of his game he doesn't offer much really apart from graft. The rest are not threatening at all. At no point do I think lavery is going to score. I'd be on the look out for a striker for next season but it'll cost us and I'm not sure if we will pay to bring in a top goalscorer.

Goal scorers cost money, we sold one for a lot of money and if yesterday is anything to go by, brought in a left winger for big bucks. Rhodes spends his time in and around the box, Joseph ( who must be playing to orders) spends his time wide left. Lavery doesn't look fit, Beesley is injured, Kouassi is a kid thrown in at the deep end. Unfortunately the Alfie May's of this world entail spending money.

Never known a season whereby every forward has been injured. Lavery pre season & a few games in looked revitalised, odds on him finishing Lge 1 top scorer were posted on here. A couple of hammys later & looking overweight he just doesn't look the part. I'd say Joseph is playing too wide in a front 3 but would like to think he could notch 10+ a season & similar numbers of assists. Kouassi started to make an impact & then a hammy. Personally, I think our most potent period of the season was when Beesley got match fit & he & Rhodes were both scoring then yet another injury.

When you have a single centre forward playing without a partner like you would in a 442, you always lose a little impact. We’ve seen that with Lavery, Rhodes, and also with Jerry when he played up top on his own. The question is whether the bit you lose from the individual playing without a partner, is worth it for the benefit of the team. At the moment I’m not sure that it is. I don’t think the tactics are getting the best out of this squad

Lavery won't be here next season doesn't want to sign a new contract or been offered one.
Take your pick of the rumour mill.
