Stuart McCall

I think you will find it's McCall.
Very popular man at the Bantams, but hasn't, unfortunately, pulled up any trees, that said, working with Critch will probably make a difference.

Critch knows what the coaching set up lacks and must have seen that in McCall. Experience obviously. McCall has always struck me as a highly motivated individual. Had a good spell at Motherwell I think.

He started his coaching career working with Warnock, getting Sheff U promoted to the Prem, and has worked under Strachan for the Scottish national side. He never achieved much at Bradford it seems but appears to be very popular with the fans, who presumably understood the task and appreciated his commitment. He took a pay cut at one point due to the finances. He had two second place finishes in the SPL with Motherwell, and a Scottish Cup final. From there he went to Rangers in an end of season temporary role. He's a passionate guy with tons of experience, who may not be best as a number one, but will surely bring plenty to the party.

come on !. You are moody because of the heat. He is a great football person. Has plenty to pass on.
Maybe your right, sat here sweating my nads off just in my shorts 😃
Don’t recall his recent record being upto much, but what do I know, in Sadler and critchley we trust, utp!!!

I wouldn't want him as a number one but he must have a lot to offer as an assistant, I'd imagine.
I'd definitely agree. That good spell as assistant to Warnock at Sheff Utd, which included promotion to the Prem, is really useful. Yes they went back down the next season but that also teaches things. I think he has a good amount of the experience we need.

Vastly experienced across the leagues. Over 1000 games played at club and international level (40 caps). 500 games as a manager / coach. Plenty of knowledge there for Critchley to tap into, so in theory McCall should have plenty to offer in an assistant role.

This is a selection of thoughts from Bantams fans.

Never ceases to amaze me that football managers always get a job that's they got sacked for because they are a failure at it.

You should change your name to Fakebantam.

Excellent news. Stuart has so much experience in the game and so much to offer. A change of club and the sea air will revitalise him.

Tbh I've said this before, as city manager he had huge shoes to fill in that of McCall as our No4. He had Black as his assistant n I believe Stu needed somebody greater. Coaching could be his limit unless assistant to a proven manager. Gd luck Stu in your new venture n hope we get to play against u as that will look like we also heading in right direction.

Bet Blackpool fans are chuffed to bits.

I wonder if liclalex will be buying a Blackpool shirt now?
Good luck Stu, enjoy being a number 2. Maybe a bit less pressure.

Interersting - if we still had access to the old board, before Critch came, I wrote a whole piece on why I thought we should go after McCall.
Excellent appointment and also God forbid someone comes in for Critch, provides that much needed succession.

If Critch left I wouldn't be too keen on McCall taking over tbh, left Bradford second bottom in League Two last December. His best work has been as an assistant it seems, apart perhaps from Motherwell. And I suspect he would be a bit old school to take over the reins from what we have now. Falling off cars with a can in hand era of football management. The world has changed.... 🤣

I don't think he'd get the manager's job if Critch were to leave.
