Can someone explain to me the thought process behind the subs made today? 3-1 down, a game we need to win and he goes for like for like subs, like he has all season. Where’s the intent?

Take husband off and bring Emmerson on and go for it. CJ I’d be happy to never see play for us again and that sub for Gabriel should have been done at half time. I’ve said it all season, as have many others, we have no plan B. Just this terrible structure and boring system. Game after game it’s been crying out for wingers and width. Unbelievably shocking.

To add, I’m glad we didn’t make the play offs because we aren’t good enough. Big summer ahead!!

How can it be that we have only one wide player/winger in the squad. And we all know who that player is !
 
Hes working to a formula. Ive always thought that taking norburn off when chasing a game, was because NC knew Norburn was unlikely to contribute, but it would seem that at some point in the 70th to 80th minute you take off the holding midfielder and out on another. clueless
 
To be fair to him, that bench is absolutely horrendous I don't really think it mattered who came on and in what position, none of them were going to come on and provide a bit of quality to change the game

Yep. So why didn’t we bring Apter back in January? Insane
 
It’s just rinse and repeat. He could have easily changed it with what we had on the bench today, and other games, but decides not to.

Husband off - Gabriel on. As much as I wanted CJ off, put him left wing. Byers or Carey off, if needed due to tiredness and bring Morgan on. Dembele on the right. Joseph and Beesley up top as a two. 2 subs and a change in system.

Joseph is getting a bit of stick after today, but I don’t think he was the worst player out there but he seemed to be playing more on the left than up front. Square pegs round holes and all that.

He could have taken a defender off and put Emmerson on and gone 3 up top when we were 3 down. I’d half expect this in his first year, finding his feet and all that, but he’s more experienced now than when he was first here but seems to be worse for it.

Critch won’t be sacked so likely to start the season with him. He has 10 games tops next season otherwise the pitch forks will be out for him!
