Succession Planning

If Mick McCarthy becomes the manager (short-term), I'd like to see some succession planning.
Success is not built on swapping and changing the manager.
It's about having a long term strategy, and a style of play.
As fans, do we want to be entertained, or win games 1-0 and be bored stiff?
We also need to accept that whoever it is will not stay. Managers become 'life-expired' after two or three years (Mick McCarthy is definitely one of them).

One example could be Thommo as the coach, with a new manager coming in and having a two or thee year contract.
The flip of that is Alex Ferguson stayed in charge, but swapped and changed his coach/assistant.

Thoughts.

if we are winning games 1-0 more often than not , i doubt many fans will be saying they are bored stiff as we will be up near the top of the division .

It's an interesting one isn't it because if Mick wins half of his games, why would you not want him to stay next season?
I'd be interested to know if that is his intention or if he just wants his name back in the game.
End of the day Kent to Blackpool is a long way to come full time.
