Turning the clock back to last November I was just starting to think Sonny was finding some form. Inexplicably (maybe not) he was rested and we've seen very little of him since.
He was "plonked" into the team today in an un-decipherable position and 2nd half did OK+.
PS Hadn't seen @Graves comment when I typed this.

Sonny's shot nearly hit the corner flag and had the seagulls ducking 🤣
Play him in his best position & he's a decent L1 player, who can usually strike a ball well.
Even Chizy & Gary B couldn't initially work out where he was playing and what his role was. That's down to NC.
 
I know most don't agree but I think he's one of our better players. Unfortunately the bar is pretty low at the moment particularly in midfield.

I thought both him and Virtue in his short time on the pitch contributed more than Norburn & Byers.
 
Thought he would really push on in L1 this season after struggling last season.

He hasn’t. Wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t here next season.
 
I thought he plucked up his courage a bit and had a very decent second half apart from that non shot. First half he was probably as baffled as the rest of us what our coach expected of him technically, but he could have done himself a favour and got stuck in. It was like playing with ten men in that first 45.
Generally today our passing was really poor.
 
He was woeful in the first half but second half I thought he played very well and took the game to them.

A few moments in half a game over a full season, not good enough, not a top 6 number 10 in League one, or an 8 or any other number where you want to try him and he parks his car in disabled parking bays, hope he goes in the summer.
 
Sonny was probably the best of a bad bunch today in the second half. But that wasn't saying much. My issue is with the wingback. Gabriel and, to a lesser extent, Coulson didn't try to get down the wing once. Is that because the opposition find it so easy to stop them or are they being told to play back to the defence all the time.

Set up Byers to miss. Had our short on target from free kick which he won. Set up Joseph miss with a lovely ball.

So basically, made literally everything any good happen today but cos he missed a 25 year effort he's shite.

That is just wrong, they did, not always effectively but they did get forward.

If he doesn't get kept on by us let's see where he ends up, a true indication of his value on a football pitch.

Agreed - the difference was a great shot on target - we had chances and fked them up - we do not have a goal scorer unfortunately

He will find his level regardless of what people write on here, my opinion for what it's worth is that it will be bottom half league 1 at best. Still a nice living and better than most jobs so good luck to him.
 
In a sentence?

I’m sure he’s a decent bloke, but he’s not achieved his potential due to not being developed correctly, and for that you have to blame his coaches.
