Sunday Lunch

No mate too old for that. I'm currently away and going to consider a few other options. Maybe stretching the budget upto 150k. Maybe I'm thinking too much into things. But it's a big decision as lost my wife earlier this year. So I need a complete change of environment. Thank you for your reply I appreciate it.
Good luck, hope you get it sorted, plenty around to hitch up with

Loads of flats in St Annes for under 150,000 in ok areas. There's quite a lot under 100,000. Good luck with finding somewhere, hopefully with a pub that does good Sunday dinners nearby.

Sorry guys didn't mean to cause any arguments. Just moving locally soon and nervous enough as it is. I'm questioning my decision still am I doing the right thing. My budget was 125k maximum. Could find nothing in my price range where I really wanted around Bispham. Knott end seems nice. But the downside is it looks very elderly which isn't a massive issue. I can still pull out as only paid the deposit. Any other good areas closer to Blackpool?..an agent tried to sell me a property in foxhall village. I parked up one night between 8pm until 10pm and never seen as any low life's in my life. And that says a lot for someone from manchester. I just want a place where I won't get any unwanted grief.
Fylde property prices are relatively cheap but £125k your asking a lot even in Blackpool for a really nice area,no way would I ever live in Knott End boring as hell, expensive pub doesn't even have a decent Supermarket cost you a fortune nipping to Spar and CO-OP for goodies.

I live in FY3 which is one of the cheaper areas with a decent house is between 120-150k.

Good luck.👍

I had Sunday lunch at the weekend with an old KGS pal and Chopper and his better half. We went to the Lytham Kitchen, across the road from the departure point for KGS buses back in the day. The roast beef dinner I had was bloody good, better than you'd expect in a cafe. I'm sure many of you are aware of this. The steak pie was great too, I got a mouthful. It was very busy, understandabky, but we got a table quickly without booking even though I could see no vacant tables. I'll go back for sure, it was my first visit there in many years and I sort of forgot about it.

I go for a cooked breakfast there regularly ..it’s very good and staff are lovely as is the lady owner 👍

Went to the Queens in Lytham on Sunday. Whilst it was still enjoyable I felt standards have slipped a bit, beef seemed to be like the pre sliced stuff you would buy from a deli counter and the roasties were a bit stale. Used to be my recommended place for a decent pub Sunday Roast but wouldn’t necessarily go back in a hurry

Just tried rightmove Blackpool Manc, set price range between £125k & £140k, 140 properties came up across Blackpool & some decent ones in there. Personally would avoid FY1 but lots of nice locations across FY2 to FY4.

He was a made up character Willie. Exposed by his inconsistent ”story”….he had a season ticket at OT from when he was 2 etc etc

I went to the Grapes at Wrea Green on Sunday. Not been for a good few years.

Absolutely awful. Re-heated Sunday lunch, rock hard potatoes and parsnips.
Wouldn't recommend.

Not good that Lala and l bet it wasn’t cheap either. I don’t get any chef / cook allowing sub standard food leaving the kitchen but unfortunately some don't care!

One of my daughters told me it was crap last time she went, but against my better judgment I gave it a try. Really bad. And it was cold inside the pub. I think £21.00 for a roast dinner and a lemonade.

On a side note had a family meal at the Ship in Elswick a week or 2 ago. The food was average but the service was excellent, very eager to please and efficient. Would give them another go 👌

We have recently been to the Waters Edge in St Annes after it's refurb (it didn't even need one) It's the same as the Tavern at Thornton but it actually has food. Really nice roast. I can recommend it more than Thornton. Only thing that lets it down for me is the beers but it's not that big a problem.

Been poor for a good few years now Lala. No one in the village goes in - they all go to the Tute.

Off to the smokehouse thingy in thornton at weekend heard its very good, ship was okish when I went last year as was the old halfway house, the eagle and child a notch up on them, the shard pretty decent as was briadene. River Wyre ok. Waters edge 🤢 gross. Cant believe some of the prices though, they are on par with decent restaurants.
