Hi guys. I'm back in the UK late Saturday and need to go over to knott end to sign for my new house on Sunday morning. Cannot wait. Any advice on a good carvery around Blackpool as last time I went into the squirell it wasn't as good as past visits. That was my goto carvery. Think I will call in the mitre aswell for a few pints.

Plum Tree Farm do a decent Carvery but a bit out of town near B&Q.
Nothing much central so you'd have to go for a Roast Dinner this is good.👍

Knott End is closed on Sundays.

Thank you. Will try that plum tree... It's near the Toby carvery right?.

If you want a carvery specifically then Marsh Mill Tavern at Thornton is decent, if you want Sunday roast other than carvery, the Cartford inn is at the top end, as is Twelve restaurant at Thornton.
Cheers for the reply. Will try that 12 another time as heard before it's class. Maybe for a birthday or Xmas lunch. But thanks for taking time to reply. I appreciate it.

Not far near the M55 junction right next to door to B&Q
Cheers pal.. Will be in there Sunday. Looked on the website and food looks spot on. Just what I'm after.im currently in the states and getting bored of eating crap. Need some good British beef and vedge down me.

I won't touch the Catford. It used to be a real ale pub with good food. Now it's a snob joint with only one ale served badly. Also, you're not allowed to sit outside with a dog. It's rural ffs! No, they only want posh foodies. Stuff 'em.

I’ve not been; edit that, I used to go when it was rammed on Sunday night with folk music.

my go to for sunday lunch and it has been for some time is the Hand and Dagger at Treales. It's magnificent. Bit far out from Knott End though.

Lot of use of the word lunch on this thread, I'm from Lancashire never had lunch in my life.
If I have a meal on a Sunday or Christmas
day with roast meat, gravy and veggies, its my dinner whatever time I eat it.
Rest of the time I have breakfast, dinner and tea.
What's happened to everybody, are you all becoming less northern?

What would you stuff a posh foodie with? Chestnut and apricot maybe, wouldn't be paxo.

Just, literally, up the road from us, used to love a pint in there, proper local ... now I’m too “local” ...if catch my drift... snob ridden shithole!

No idea round here as we usually manage to do a pretty decent Sunday roast. Best I've ever had out was the Pheasant Inn at Casterton near Kirkby Lonsdale. The roast beef was to die for. Not much good for Knott End though. 😂

Best restaurant in the whole area food is brilliant.
Pushing for a Michelin star.
Why anyone would want real ale and to take their dog is beyond belief.
Not snobs but against real ale bore louts.😜

If your lucky supper is a late night snack after you have had your tea, if you go a bit further north you can also have a fish supper 👍

How did you guess?
Actually she's the best cook ever, not just Lunches etc.
Makes the best cakes etc too.
I weigh 10st, why I don't weigh 20st I'll never know.
Just a gut feeling, plus i seem to remember a post about apple pie on here once ..!?

Sorry guys didn't mean to cause any arguments. Just moving locally soon and nervous enough as it is. I'm questioning my decision still am I doing the right thing. My budget was 125k maximum. Could find nothing in my price range where I really wanted around Bispham. Knott end seems nice. But the downside is it looks very elderly which isn't a massive issue. I can still pull out as only paid the deposit. Any other good areas closer to Blackpool?..an agent tried to sell me a property in foxhall village. I parked up one night between 8pm until 10pm and never seen as any low life's in my life. And that says a lot for someone from manchester. I just want a place where I won't get any unwanted grief.

Can’t help you with that budget, except to say have you considered an equity release mortgage, depands on age though.

No mate too old for that. I'm currently away and going to consider a few other options. Maybe stretching the budget upto 150k. Maybe I'm thinking too much into things. But it's a big decision as lost my wife earlier this year. So I need a complete change of environment. Thank you for your reply I appreciate it.
