Sunderland aren't happy.

I thought it could have gone either way.

It could have gone either way.
Hope it's a different Referee for the next. Or maybe who favours away sides? 🤔

To be honest I thought they gave us a real workover, although without creating too many chances.
I think they looked probably the best team we have faced this season.
Don’t really fancy them in the playoffs especially over two legs.
Our best chance might be for them to get automatic, but that ironically looks unlikely after today.

I think Sunderland have good ideas and movement going forwards. They might have got through a number of times. Mostly our defence was up to it but I wouldn't want to go into the next game with the same tactics.

Saddest feckin’ post of the day!!

Three points behind Sunderland with a game in hand and you think that our best chance is for them to get automatic

Glass feckin’ empty or what

They’re 3rd in the league and hating it.

There’s a few on here that would fit in well as Sunderland fans to be fair.

Their attitude as fans stinks. Please don’t let us ever get like that. 3rd in the league ffs and want the manager gone
What about Mike? 🤣

What’s the point in playing world class like last week for 75 mins and ending up hanging on for a draw, while we can dig deep and defend like we did today and win? The players are running themselves into the ground at the moment and almost on empty, but what a team 👏👏 So the amount of possession they had today and maybe had one or two chances means nothing in fact they had less possession than we had against Plymouth away first game of the season, didn’t we lose?🤔

OK fair point, but much as I really enjoyed that win it doesn’t hide the fact that we were outplayed for most of the game.
I would prefer to have to play Peterborough that’s all.

what a bunch, god we certainly have our fair share. Are Sunderland fans not allowed to be pissed off?? Like it or not Sunderland should be in the premier league!!!
you all sound like the cunts that were slagging us off a few years back , you know the ones that came out with the shit one oyston got them to the prem, what more do they want !!!

Some of my personal favourites from their forum as posted on the match thread

This is not Barcelona it’s Blackpool, we will pezzle these 3-0

How is it we never play against a team with a shite keeper? Is it that we’ve got them all?

0-0 would have been the correct result....they were dross and just hoof ball merchants......not a good side at all...

Performance wise, we've been decent and by far the better side in their own back yard. Id not fear these at all in the play offs.

Shame we have nobody that can play as a no10, someone like that Embleton kid at Blackpool.

You make it sound like we were playing Man City; this was Blackpool - Hull / Peterboro go a goal down and come back with 3 or 4. Not saying Pool were poor but reckon the top two would have turned them over.

But Hull and Peterboro couldn't turn us over

They have big club syndrome, and think they’re too good for league one. I’d accept that if they’re in the league for one season, two max, but this is their third season and it’s likely they will be in for a fourth season if they don’t turn things around. There must come a point where you accept where you are and stop looking down on everyone around you. After three seasons you are where you belong regardless of the size of your club.

Bayern, for the feast of the season I certainly hope we don’t have to defend and dig deep like we did today !
A change of tactics today by defending a 1 goal lead which can be fraught with danger.
For the last 20 minutes the game was predominantly played in our half and we never ventured past the half way line.
We invited pressure by reverting to thos

We've had at least 8 genuine first teamers missing throughout the whole of our amazing run which makes it even more remarkable how well we've done. I doubt their squad could have coped. I'd love to see at least a couple back for the return, maybe Madine, Keshi or Stewart to give us that extra edge from the bench. I'd definitely back us then to do the double.

Great quote off their board
"Come on marra can’t blame them for effort the majority are just average footballers and not the sort that should be playing for Sunderland. Until someone comes along and understands what Sunderland is about we will go nowhere. We have a f***ing stadium that we can fill every week and we have a team that should be playing for Fleetwood (no disrespect meant)"

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I've seen quite a few bits and pieces of Sunderland this season and frankly this was as good as I've seen them play. What they don't seem to get is that they were incredibly lucky to have 11 men on the pitch. The bottom line is that a draw would have been a fair result but if your keeper drops the ball you get punished. That's why you need a decent keeper. They can slag us off all they like but they never looked like beating us and neither has any other side for the last 15 games.

You've had a few cocktails to celebrate a great three points haven't you?

Also..... Embo would have been a better option off their bench when they needed some guile in the centre to pick open our defence second half.
They chose to send him out to us and we thank them for it

Don’t get your knickers in a twist love, we’re just enjoying the misery of a bunch of fans that think they should be top of the premiere league and in Europe. Just banter, no need for overuse of exclamation marks lady👍

Agree with that and we have some very tired players at the moment and with the injuries we have to key players it’s amazing how well we’ve performed to be honest. We’re having to dig very deep at the moment but l thought today was one of the better performances for different reasons especially as we started to sit deeper, add to that Jerry hasn’t scored for a couple of games wither which is a real shocker! Make no mistake that was an outstanding team performance today 👏👏👏

That's hardly fair. This is a Prem standard team we're talking about....🤣

Christ the north east must be a very depressing place to live (Newcastle & Sunderland fans are suicidal after losing a football match)god only knows what they would be like if the oyscums had owned them for thirty odd years weirdos all of them !.

They way they have worked this season as a new squad from top to bottom I wouldn't be too disappointed if we miss out on promotion, they've done us proud.

LOL Some of us have managed to escape and are on the tangerine express to the promised land of promotion 😁👍

To be honest their fans don't see us every week. They havn't seen us against Hull, Peterborough, Portsmouth, teams we pissed on. Equally they havn't seen us outplay teams and draw or lose. We get a scrappy 1-0 win , didn't play great, i'll have it every day of the week. If Sunderland fans think we're a hoofball team they'd love to play in the playoffs , bring it on.
Add Madine, Anderson and Stewart to todays squad and the fact, beat top teams and play better away from home, if we get to the playoffs let em all worry about us.

This is a good point. We won today and they still think we’re shit, which means they could underestimate us again, which is the best of both worlds! Critch is playing 4d chess!
