Super League

Anyone know the ins and outs, does it start next season, is it just a midweek competition that will just be an invitational to a 'league' champions league? Are the 'big 6' still going to compete in the Premier, Cups?

Can’t see it going ahead, looks like that’s all they’ll have, they’ll be kicked out of all other leagues and competitions.

Edit to add, just listened to ITV news where it’s reported that this will absolutely go ahead, the clubs involved expected this reaction and don’t care. There already preparing legal action if leagues try to exclude them.

The big problem is that their players won’t be able to play for their national teams, where does that leave England in particular? A lot of the current team come from those three clubs.

Can't see Klopp having that, he is principled and his kids won't go hungry, would have him here but under NC of course!

I can only presume the idea of this league will back off, at least for a while, otherwise strap yourselves in because it’s going to get really messy. Nobody is going to be happy to lose all this revenue and power. Be interesting to see how strong these governing bodies are prepared to stand firm, especially if they think their threats are not going to work.

Has anyone actually asked the players if they want this ?

If it does go ahead every football fan should boycott the Superleague in it's entirety.

Not a Euro more.

According to more than 1 Liverpool source Klopp says he will resign if it goes ahead - This is all about money and nothing to do with Football(other than its ability to generate money of course)

What's all the fuss about. The Premier League was formed by greedy clubs in the top tier wanting a bigger share of the money at the expense of smaller clubs. The European Cup was changed to the Champions League so participating clubs could make more money. It was then thought it only fair that teams falling at the first hurdle should get a second chance and go into the Europa League. As a general rule in every country the same teams qualify for these lucrative competitions every year, widening the gulf between the top clubs and the also rans.
As I understand it the only thing to change is , the participating clubs will still play in the Premier but will play in this new league instead of any other European competition they qualify for. This would allow smaller clubs the opportunity to qualify for European competitions. This project will need funding, so if your against it don't fund it
