Thinking about it, yes. Late 80s as they were never in the Prem.

Was it the first season of the play offs? or one of them? I could literally look it up, but it's more fun to try and remember!

Swindon were McMahon's old team. We played them in about 2001/2002 and James Pullen (remember him?) saved a last minute penalty from Neil Ruddock to ensure we won 1-0.

It started when Lou Macari was in charge. They defrauded transfer tribunals by dishonest disclosures on wages etc offered to players they were signing by tribunal to get them on the cheap. Went from 4th tier to top tier as a result and were demoted after being caught.
