Table after 30 games in 2006/2007

It’s interesting how the style of our football over the last couple of seasons has relied on the big man up top like Gnando, madine and now Simms to create success. Yet in the Grayson promotion season of 2006/7 it was about players the likes of Wes, Parker and Morrell. Smaller in stature but full of skill and pace in front of the back 4. Full of attack and promise such as the 2-5 game at Swansea. If only for the likes of those 3 again eh? 🥰

Interesting to see how Oldham fell away from there. If Swansea had beaten us 2-0 in that last game Oldham wouldn't have qualified for the play-offs.

Bristol City also had a good finish getting more than 2 points a game from then on - less than2 points per game and we would have caught them.

Back then we were scoring as many and more than those around. This time we are well short. That generally translates into points, which is why we won't make the PO's imo.
It's definitely a concern, if we do make the play-offs I'll be nervous as anything with our goal scoring record!

We're doing so well because our defence is just THAT good, its a bizarre thing as a Blackpool fan. I don't think I've ever experienced it before
