Noticed yesterday that once both strikers departed we had very little threat front.....why not use Lavery from start with either Madine or Yates....you can take either of those off and still have a potent threat up top.

The strange thing for me was that he took Yates off and left Madine on - how could someone half of Madine's size be expected to replace him in whatever role it was he was playing when we were down to 10 men. Bizarre to say the least (and did he throw Ekky up at the end the way Ollie threw Evatt up?!)

i'd like to see yates pushing the back line with lavery, then droping to a number 10 role and link up play but for this to happen we:
-have to play narrow
-stop playing long balls
-lose phisicality (height)
-(more important than the others) have to start taking more risks with passes. Carey showed some of that verticality but now is injured.

When we play long balls up top they have to go to Madine for either a flick on or a lay-off. If it's a lay-off then we can centre quickly from there (floated or along the ground), or pass it out to the wings.
