Thinking of taking Mrs One to Taiwan for our 10th wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks.

Any of the great travelled AVFTT posters been, and would be kind enough to share any ideas or tips?

Thanks to all in advance šŸ§”

Hiya mate, I was previously working in Taiwan, Taipei at the beginning of the year for 3 months. Nice place, but not alot to see or do apart from Tower 101, some great beaches down south of the island, and plenty of mountains and water falls to adventure too. Ps great for food aswell, but if i was you I'd throw Taiwan and Hong-Kong into one holiday.

I agree with the above that thereā€™s not an awful lot to do in Tapei once youā€™ve done the 101.

Iā€™d suggest Kaohsiung in the South. The south is prettier and more tourist friendly

Thanks for that. Done HK many times and actually there this week for the 7s.

Will look at heading down South after Tapai. šŸ‘

Good to write something not about football....

It's a great place to visit in my opinion. As others have said not too many sites as such but you can visit some nice countryside, have good food and enjoy the welcoming atmosphere. I always feel it is as at least as much Japanese as Chinese which is not surprising since it was a Japanese colony for quite a while. It's also got a big American influence (they like their baseball). I always think it is what Singapore could have been/be with better politicians. The people are chilled, quite artistically minded, well mannered and educated. I recommend Taroko Gorge on the East coast, Yangmingshan near Taipei, Jiufen near Taipei, Sun Moon Lake and Taipei of course. Got to have beef noodles, go to Din Tai Fung, eat at a night market and have a bubble tea! I think it is good for maybe 8-10 days in total.
