Take a Deep Breath.

It's only been a week and a half since the season ended.

The Summer window opens on June 10th and all out of contract players end their contracts on June 30th. We've missed out on no one.

During our promotion winning season of 20/21 we didn't make a signing until June 29th.

Sadler said the DOF has already been appointed (but not announced yet) who I can only assume is assisting with the search for Head Coach as well as already identifying potential players.

For reference, Barnsley didn't appoint Michael Duff until June 15th (!!!).

Since Sadler came in I have seen him put his money where his mouth is; committing money to save us during COVID, submit concrete plans to the Council for a new Training Ground and completion of the stadium that he will partially fund, fund a promotion to the Championship, completely revamp the structure of the youth setup, and directly improve the current training ground.

You can't possibly look at the above list and think that he doesn't have the best interest of Blackpool at heart and is going to do the absolute most to turn the on pitch performances around. Last season was a clusterfuck and I am certain that Sadler himself will admit that and take responsibility, but the constant stick he is getting coupled with the constant moaning from some on here is beyond the pale.

The sky isn't falling, not having a manager at this point is nowhere close to a disaster, take a deep breath and trust that Sadler will get it right and in a timely manner.

Excellent post

I'm looking forward to the negativity of last season being replaced by the hope for the next. If we start looking like we could do well next season, the positivity will be flying.

Hopefully that positivity will begin with the appointment of a new manager!
Yep me too, we are one good appointment and a decent sized (but manageable) rebuild away from being serious Promotion challengers.

League 1 is a tough division, but people forget that when the Oyston's were in charge we finished 10th (!) in League 1 despite spending minimally and going through a boycott. Promotion this season is very feasible.

It's only May 18th, I think we'll have a new manager announced (along with the DOF who is already working) by next Friday, May 26th, which IMO will put us in great position to get business early done.

There’s nothing stopping us signing players now, June 10 is just the date when the move will be ratified. Plenty of other clubs have already started their business.

Not complaining btw, just clarifying.
Fair, but most signings aren't made until around that time because of those dates, it'd be nice to announce some now, but most clubs don't and I don't believe we're missing out on anyone.

I don't trust Sadler to get anything right
I understand why you'd think that after this season, but I ultimately think that point of view is incredibly reactionary and based on only this past season.

This past season he fucked up, the previous seasons he made every correct decision, he deserves the benefit of doubt from the fans that he'll come good this Summer.

We're not behind the 8 ball at all based on the schedule I laid out, be optimistic for a change. 🍊

So he's got nothing right since he took over?

Bollocks.
Actually I haven't said that

He did well to get us promoted at least we signed some decent players that season and managed to replace some of the shite

This season however has been a disaster

You said you dont trust him to get anything right though. There's plenty of evidence that he does get stuff right. In a way the Oystons didnt cos they didn't give a shit. Constantly abusing him seems like a strange tactic to me.

It would be helpful if we new what style of football the manager was going to play, before we waste squad places. The last two transfer windows should have taught us that.

Sadler is out of the honeymoon period, absolutely agree he has took the club on strides since the stains left, however like it or not he is letting all that work go to the wall with his current attitude and lack of action.
Is he just stubborn?
Communication is key when things go wrong, he needs a voice and he needs to take responsibility for the awful 12 months we've all endured.

Where have I abused him? Don't make things up

And yeah I don't trust him to get anything right at the moment, I've no idea what's gone on but things are a hell of a lot different from his first full season in charge

Depends what you mean by abuse i guess. Constant negativity and criticism surely classes as a form.of abuse. People rarely perform anywhere near their best in those circumstances.

He's had two seasons where he got everything right followed by one where nothing went right. So on that basis you would imagine to at least give him some leeway and have some hope that with quite a bit of credit in the bank he will turn things. Then you factor in that he's a Blackpool lad and he's been very successful all his life.
He deserves more than your repetitive negative agenda.

I was chuffed to bits when Simon Sadler took over and for the first couple of years
got most thinks right and was very proactive.
I hope I'm wrong but somewhere along the line something has happened and
something just doesn't feel right.
I think the next few weeks are massive and will tell us a lot about SS and in what
direction the club is going. Is he still fully committed ?, I really hope so. We're about
to find out.

Well…. The window is open now. Players just can’t be registered yet. In fact the window is a bit of a myth, you can sign players whenever you want but you can’t register them outside a window.

All he needs to do is communicate, the total lack of any communication is fuelling that feeling that something is wrong. I hope he’s still fully committed, because we know he doesn’t like criticism, and he’s had a lot. He might be thinking, I’ve put millions into the club to keep it going through the pandemic, I’ve invested in squires gate, the stadium and the pitch, I’ve said I’m committing millions to the training ground and East stand, and I’m still getting pelters. Why bother.

Spurs have been waiting a lot longer than us for a manager

I think you have to assume that it will be a new face in the race and a new man with a new plan because if it were Critchley or Dobbie it would already have been announced...not a bad thing as long as its not Mickey Mellon, Simon Grayson, Mick McCarthy or Michael Appleton. I really dont know why people are always looking for someone who has been here before and the three most successful managers were all new to the club (Holloway, Bowyer and Critchley). Its an essential appointment we have to get right so I dont blame them for taking their time.

Get Critchley back to work his magic. He's got more experience this time around, and we won't be starting the season with Michael Nottingham as our centre-half, which means we won't lose 5 out of our first 8 games.

We are in a far better place than when SS took over. Grimshaw, Gabriel, Lyon’s, Carey, Marv, Jerry, Beesley, Trybull, Kenny, CJ, Husband, Thompson, Connolly. This squad alone would do well in league 1.

Took that deep breath last week, am now going purple and hoping we hear some new soon or I'll be hallucinating about Phil from Wales and a sheep 🥴
