Tangerine The Colour

I might get slated for this but it is a big gripe of mine and I presume it is to others too.

Why is it some get the colour tangerine so wrong?

The official site, the official kit, old AVFTT, Back Henry Street and the new AVFTT is the closest but is still a bit out.

When was the last time our home shirt was something that was close to tangerine and not orange?

What is the authentic official tangerine? I've had many shirts over the years and they've all been different.

We first wore the shirt in the 1923-24 season (following a suggestion by a club official who had refereed a game between Holland and Belgium)? They changed the colour later in the season as the first shirt was thought to be “amber which was more of a golden-brown than a tangerine" Info from this website.

I doubt those two shirts were compiled from an RGB colour chart, and even if any were still around the colour will have faded.

Who decided that "actual tangerine" above? How dare they tell us what tangerine is. It looks more like amber-brown to me. Tangerine is what Blackpool fans say it is!

I like the old AVFTT/BHS best. Perhaps, we should have a poll on it for the next shirt?

The tangerine I've shown is what is shown when you type in tangerine into google, it's just a name given to a colour and it will be the same wherever you go, the problem is that we've used so many different colours of orange that people don't know which one is the correct one.

Just checked and the colour used here for the new AVFTT is #FF9500 and is called Dark Orange.

Current kid looks too red on the highlights. I'm with you, proper tangerine is better.
