I can make allowances for national tabloids being lazy in their posts and references to us, not actually knowing our famous Seasiders nickname, but even our own local Blackpool Gazette are now calling us the tangerines, totally unacceptable.

I have supported Blackpool since the late 60s and always thought that our official nickname was The Tangerines. Thought Southend were Seasiders. Who would have thought?

Can't we be the Seasiders and the Tangerines? I'm not sure a nickname can actually be "official" can it? What document would I refer to in order to check that and who/which committee ratified it?

Also, I'm not in the least worried if people call us the Tangerines. We're proud of Tangerine aren't we? I know I am.

Ever since I started supporting the Pool we have been known as the Seasiders..mid 60s.
I have bought shirts, scarves mugs and all manner of objects both from the club and Wembley merchandise, but I have never seen anything with the name tangerines on it.
I am also very proud to we wear the famous tangerine

Wiki has us as The Seasiders and The Tangerines.

I quite like The Tangerines. Can't say I'm familiar with it but it's a little more unusual than The Seasiders.

I remember getting football annuals for Xmas as a kid late 60s early 70s and each team would be listed with brief details. Ground. Capacity. Colours . Record win. Record attendance & nickname etc . Blackpool would have " seaside or the tangerines" listed as theirs.
