I’m sure golden boy Connolly will no doubt start, probably instead of Marv, but that looks a decent starting XI. Really fancy us for a big win tomorrow. Lavery back is a huge boost. Looked lively against Burton midweek.

Lavery won't start, I'm pretty sure of that. I doubt we'll see more than 20mins from him tomorrow:

Dale has to at least be on the bench surely? Connolly will no doubt start aswell as Critch loves him

Agree Connolly should feature of the bench, but no need to slate him.
CJ and Norburn are lucky to be picked ahead of Virtue and Dale.
Lavery off bench, give Joseph more game time
The reality is we have a strong squad

I think Dale has improved massively from his last stint here. The problem for him is the formation doesn’t suit him. He’s not a wing back and his defending lets him down. Which isn’t his fault. It’s the shite formation that the manager refuses to deviate from

Agree but it means nowt until we start to back it up with goals.
 
I'd maybe stick a bit more with how we played against Forest with CJ and Dembele seemingly playing either side of Rhodes.

I liked your team selection, Athers, and I'll be cheering tomorrow if it comes off. However, as you say, Connolly (who Critchley loves like a son), has to be included somewhere - it's the First Rule of Critch Club - but instead of including him instead of Marvin, I would include him instead of Norburn who's not been as influential after a good start.

Connolly is famed for being a Utility Player and is as good in midfield as anywhere else on the pitch.

None of this will happen, of course, but we're testing our little grey cells thinking about it. We have enough good players to win tomorrow. UTMP.

Dale would be an impact sub in my formation. Lyons, Carey, Husband could all slot in easily. Simple changes and everyone would know their role unlike the chaotic 3-5-2.

I guess your only as good as your last game and I thought Dale, Connolly, virtue, Marv and Dale had decent games. Is it enough to keep them in though

I would swap Owen for CJ. He has certainly shown that he is wasted getting splinters in his backside.
 
Gabriel at rwb and the new lad at lwb would be a good start.

Rhodes, obviously. CJ and Dembele either side.

Morgan and probably Norburn in mf.

Husband the only certainty of the back 3 by being left footed, Pennington hopefully if fit enough at rcb but it will probably be Connolly. Then whoever's pissed off NC the least between Marv and Casey.
