Forget about tonight, it's done. We were never going to win every game and with few left there is zero point in dwelling on a loss.

Agree with that, except I'd honestly rather play Hamilton or Lavery on the left based on Rogers performance tonight.
 
Hopefully Fiorini is fit , as soon as I saw Patino/Carey in midfield I knew we were goosed, Dougall you can get away with if he plays next to someone robust who can distribute, Trybull was a big loss, Connolly in midfield for me if there's no other options.
 
I understand people wanting Connolly in midfield, he has many qualities but passing is not one of them.
I can also see why some want a recall for Madine, and it will probably happen, but he can't run and he hardly ever scores.
The squad is lacking quality in every position except maybe centre back when everyone is available.

Depends, if it’s a strain then he will be out for a few days but it’s a tear then we are looking at a few weeks out 😌

Hopefully just a strain and won’t miss more than a couple of games.

Can't argue with that side, options are limited and based on that and ability it's probably the best side.

It won't fit with MM's plans though. It was only ever going to work if he came in and was able to inspire the same group of players to a higher level of performance. Unfortunately I don't think he did his research on the squad.

Picking a team now feels like a little shuffle of the deck chairs on the Titanic. I suspect in 2/3 games time our fate will be sealed.

Like most of our players Gabriel is not the full ticket. I love the fact that when he gets the ball in a bit of space he only has attacking intent. However, when called on to defend he backs off .... backs off .... backs off .... and then the player generally gets a cross or pass in.

Another one who will fare better in League 1.

Maxwell is a constant in all this crap for months now and it defies logic to keep picking him.

Yes but had a clean sheet in 1 in 3 games whereas Maxwell up until 2 weeks ago was a clean sheet in 1 in 10.
That was 2 in 20 in old money and with the couple, he has had lately it's probably still around 1in 6.

Whilst Maxwell did pretty well against Stoke, his saves are what I would call regulation saves. His distribution is woeful and results in us constantly losing the ball once he has it in his hands. Grimshaw all day long for me although it will probably take him a couple of agmes to get up to speed as he has been out of the team for quite a while.

Ok if we're talking figures.....Maxwell in all games has conceded 32 in 23 ( Ave 1.39 per game) Grimshaw 19 in 13 ( Ave 1.46
per game) . For me there's nowt between them as the figures show. Midfield has been the key problem area for me.
 
Assuming Jerry is out let's get Brad Holmes in the squad. I know the problem is actually getting the ball to the striker but he does know that having a shot on target gives you a better change of scoring.
Also with neither Rogers or CJ showing much why not give Rob Apter a chance.
We should be planning for the future now so let's find out if either of them are good enough.
I realise there is zero chance of this happening so we'll just play CJ because he's a nice guy and Patino because he comes from Arsenal so he must be good.

Doesn’t mean I won’t support the Team whoeverplays on Sat but realistically we have to win and all the stats I haveseen recently would suggest little chance of that

We reallyneed another 5 of ourinjured squad fit to give the Manager some thinking — most of our currentfirst eleven are ok for 45 mins

Like v Stoke we must get a lift early on otherwise it’s a back to the walls job ..

We have barely lost a match by more than one goal all season. So it’s disappointing to not draw more of those we lose but we never seem to do enough

Under MM, our defence seems to be conceding fewer goals it means we are always trying not to concede. Our problems really lie at the other end of pitch

A defeat at Reading and it will be more or less season over — feels a predictable relegation.

As fans we can only do what we do and the majority have — the fans are better in the Championship than the Team.

It appears, for some reason, that he is never going to pick Grimshaw, will Fiorini be fit? I would imagine Jerry won't feature, so it'll be the return of the goal machine 👀
I'd like us to go 4-4-2, but doubt he will

Ok, then let's say Grimmy carried on at 1 in 3 then the chances of a higher points total would have been increased.
Some losses could have been draws and some draws could have been wins.
The 2 assists Maxi had at Watford being the prime example.

Disappointed in Rogers and Hamilton, the one who can cross and is handy with set pieces is Garbutt. He is not a defender but useful on the left. Nothing to lose.
