I have a special favourite place with a million and one tunes connected to it during my teenage years throughout the mid 80’s, however one particular song grabbed my attention and reeled me in.
The place in question was a small independent record shop called the Blue Lagoon in Workington , owned by the Dad of my best pal at school....which is where he introduced me to American rock bands, such as Dokken, Ratt, Kix etc.....
Many of them bands mentioned went on to have memorable careers in their own rights, but at the time of hearing them most were pretty much an unknown entity over here.
This was at a time when the likes of Madonna, Wham,Duran Duran were popular with fellow school friends and my type of music was looked upon as being rather odd to say the least.
