I'm not fully recovered from two hip replacements ,so not walking very far or too good. I've only been to two games in over ayear that being Norwich and Watford' as I struggle with steps and low seats, but found I managed both quite well. I enjoyed both games and I was looking forward to Preston on Saturday..When I go to these games we drive to my sons home across from Revoe park and walk from there. I find it painfull but manage it with a couple of sit downs on walls for a quick rest. Well now under these police rules I would have to walk right round Rigby road which would cause me a lot of pain and a lot of time and really wouldn't relish it. So thank you to our magnificent police chiefs I'm afraid I will not be there on Saturday. What is wrong about keeping them in for 15 mins after the whistle they keep us in at Deepdale ?.

Could you not just this once park next to the stadium instead of parking at your sons. For the sake of a couple of quid you’re missing a massive game and given the shambolic performance last night - hopefully a decent performance to atone for it.

The biggest issue is with parking. For this match, they should make parking on Seasiders car park free, and also state that the overflow exit gate onto Seasiders Way will be open to aid exit after the game - encourage home fans to park there.
The police are also encouraging away fans to park east of the ground - but there's no parking around there except for on-street, which is full of home fans and residents. Away fans will still come off the motorway or Preston New Road and head down Yeadon Way, and they'll still be parking on the main car parks.

TBF, the statement did say that people with mobility issues should approach the police and would be allowed/escorted through the cordoned off area.
Would you trust that I could a nice PC on the day

It's not me that's driving and we would have to leave very early for a decent parking space or we could end up further away than my sons

Sorry but I think you are looking for a problem that doesn’t exist. The Police have made an advanced statement and clearly tried to cover all bases including those like yourself with mobility issues. From what you say your 2 sons will be with you and able to support you.

Blackpool needs a park and ride arrangement, somewhere outside town which would be a year round benefit and help away fans at the same time

My first knowledge of this was after the game on Wednesday & I thought, It's pathetic in a game with only about a 14,000 gate. But it's because some idiots on both sides simply can't behave themselves, so we can't blame the police.
