That first goal...

That first goal yesterday was a thing of beauty. If you get a chance, watch it again on the full re-run. The build up play lasted a full minute. It started with Dale and finished with Dale. I counted an incredible 23 individual involvements. The way we probed and switched play during the move was fantastic. Some great long passes from left to right from Carey in particular. Everything about the move was quality; the possession, the movement, the probing, the patience, the passing and the wing play. We were relentless and Pompey were chasing shadows. Also, I think the move highlighted exactly the way that Critch wants us to play. It's far more penetrative than the stuff we were playing earlier this season and I think it's a clear sign that the players are now up to speed on the formation and style. We are going to take some stopping now 👍.

Agree. In fact, I was riled by commentators saying that Dale scuffed his shot. To me it looked more like a cushioned placement into the goal.

To be fair, it wasn’t the cleanest of strikes but he did what he needed to do to get it across the line.

I had to listen to Pompey commentary and it was horrendously biased. Guy Whittingham I think it was, slated anything and everything that went against Portsmouth in the second half. Very painful to listen to. It’s refreshing when those commentating appreciate the opposition when deserving.

Just watch part of the game back.

The 3rd and 4th goal too had some fantastic spells of possession before them, even if Portsmouth got a touch for a second.

Some of the passing football was absolutely sublime 2nd half.

Dougall running the show, awareness, at times 1 touch simple passes, quick forward passes, running it out of defence.

He was brilliant and so were all of them.

A masterful performance 2nd half really.
