That second place is still up for grabs……

We did a perfect ten once! Thats like a rapid 30 points. And we have won 5 of our last 6 in all comps. F16 A4 +12. If we hadn't screwed up against Northants people would be feeling a lot more bullish, i think....
All very true, I just personally feel this Blackpool team have got a ‘Rick’ in them every so often. Why it seems to happen? I’ve no idea. We can’t afford many more ‘Rick’s’ if we want automatic that’s for sure

Whilst there’s still quite a few teams in the mix there’s going to be a lot of dropped points between now and May. With our squad and an owner who I believe will strengthen if needed we could easily make top two…..let’s hope that handbrake stays off 👍🏼
Let’s hope you’re right, can’t dissent. Since watching the Piool from 1988 onward I have never seen a promotion outside of Wembley/ Millennium play offs! How many clubs have 6 without an automatic?

None. No one has as many playoff wins as us.

You live in a different world, possibly Preston.

Schooled? Get a grip. Fine margins and mitigating factors. We'll beat them all when we play them again, and you'll say we were lucky.
Small margins if I recall we didn’t have a shot on target at Bolton

Left it too late this year if we can get Rhodes and dembele on permanents we can have a real go at it next season there is signs of improvement but if we come up against derby or Peterborough in the playoffs we’re knackered

Makes a lot of sense to just give up less than half way through the season. We can just relax and take it easy now and coast to a mid table finish as there is no chance of us ever beating Derby or Peterborough. Would be ridiculous to contemplate beating them. Cos it's not like beating Portsmouth. It's a whole different level of difficult.

Give over, the Play Offs are unpredictable.
Look at our history where teams have done the double over us only for us to stuff them in Play Offs.
Or a gentle reminder when we hammered Bradford 4-1 only for a few weeks later………..
Caput!

The chance of automatic is long gone. With the games in hand to be played by teams above us we will do well to get a play off spot.

We hammered Peterborough second half after Pennington got sent off and we went to a 4-4-1….. hopefully Critchley’s learning

Win 5 of our last 6. 🤘

And yes, we bossed Posh with ten men for 45 minutes. People forget all the positives, preferring to wallow in their own self concocted misery.

Until they bump into Sadler or something!

Didn’t bump into him, I called him to see if he fancied a catch up chat 👍🏼 …… still if you like twisting things to make yourself feel better you crack on 😘

An injury to Dion Charles, or Colby , a loss of form , a few surprise results .
Football can change very quickly and we're a better , more dangerous Blackpool than at the start of the season and I'd say we're improving .
Most of our successful playoff/ promotion seasons and we were way out of any likely promotion candidate picture for most of the season . We re 8th , playing well and can beat anyone in the division on our day

If Portsmouth win their games in hand they will be 15 points ahead of us. Bolton, if they win theirs 12 points ahead. No way we are clawing that back. Especially if we lose Rhodes.

It is if we were to go on a freakish run like we did in 20/21.

From Matchweek 25 to 40 of that season we; won 9, drew 7, lost 0 for 34 out of 48 points (2.125 PPG).

That season we were far too behind for that run to meaningfully get us close to autos, but its not too late this season, it just has to happen NOW.

December is our last chance to stake any claim to autos. I firmly believe we have what it takes to win every game, but also know we could just as easily slip up in every game too.

Will be very telling how the squad handles this run of fixtures.

You know what I'd like on Saturday is to be 2-0 down after 50 mins, NC to make changes, play through the middle and go and attack them on the basis that we have very good players and enjoy the 4-2 win.

That would do more for us for the rest of the season than a straightforward 2-0 win

Disagree, teams have bad runs and if we get some momentum going that furthers scares the poop out of those teams too thinking they'll be caught.

It really can be done.

I've been saying for a while now that this league is far from over and it'll largely depend on fitness, injuries and momentum.
We need the teams above us to play their game in hand to give us a better idea of what we need - at worst we'll be 10 points behind
5 league games by Jan 1 and if we can get between 11-13 (and of course ideally 15!) points - I think we can pull that back to half a dozen points and once you go in to next year it's all to play for.

We have made 7 points up on Oxford in 4 games which shows just how quickly the gap can narrow. As another poster said, Evatt teams always have a wobble, as do Darren Ferguson teams.

We just need to keep plugging away and whilst I doubt we can finish in front of Pompey, Posh and Bolton, there are still plenty of games left and we could just finish in front of two of those three which may well be good enough for automatic.

Would agree with this - no longer about what others do the next half dozen games, it's all about us.
If we'd beaten Northampton (3pts), beaten the Cods (2pts) and got a draw against Bolton (1pt) - as I think we could easily have done, we'd now be second.

'Keep that up from here on in...' Yeah, right ...
We may, or we may not. However we managed it last time he managed in this division and went from bottom of the league to promotion.

You’re ruling out a possible outcome of Pool maintaining current form. Not having to do a perfect ten, just maintain the form of the past month.
