In 1939 War broke out in Europe(WW2) and football in England was cancelled. Blackpool were top of the league at the time.

It’s a not very known fact that Blackpool are the longest club to sit at the top of the table, not sure why it is but the word needs to get out to the nationTop of the league for 6 years ,imagine The Nobbers crowing about that.
