A ticket for only £10 and including a free hot pot supper, this must be the bargain of the century. A great opportunity to meet lots of Blackpool legends from 50 years ago and celebrate the first and only time Blackpool have won a European competition Trophy in their whole history. I am really looking forward to seeing three of my favourite players from that era — Tommy Hutch, Micky Burns and Tony Green and all 3 of them plus Glyn James are BFC Hall of Famers from the 1960s & 1970s.

Blackpool have created a few records during the 3 years they have appeared in the Anglo Italian Cup:-
1. Only team to have got to 2 Finals and won it once.
2. Record win in the Tournament — Blackpool 10 Lanerossi Vicenza 0
3. Record goalscorer Micky Burns (10 goals)
4. Record attendance (40,000) when Blackpool played Roma in the 1972 Final at the Olympic Stadium in Rome.
5. Best goal ever scored in the Anglo Italian Cup — Alan Suddick‘s individual goal in the Blackpool v Hellas Verona game at Bloomfield Road.

According to the Tournament programme for 1973 there was only ever 1 attendance of 40,000 or more at an Anglo Italian match and that was for the Roma v Blackpool Final in 1972, the record attendance prior to this Final was 34,000 for a Group match in Italy. Wikipedia and other sources confirm an attendance of 26,000 for the Bologna v Blackpool final in 1971
