I probably spent most of the game running around the Kop steps with my old mates and generally being a nuisance so a chance to watch it properly now I’ve grown up a bit 😃

My last home game as a STH before the family moved down south. I was 14.

I am on the pitch at the end shaking Bob Hatton's hand - was shown on the original Granada show but don't think it is on this re-run.. Will put it on record.

Hope to you are watching Critchley that's what the fans want to see
He would hate that wouldn’t he. Both teams poor out of possession, wide players on their stronger foot, players impatiently moving the ball forward rather than concentrating on retaining possession at all costs etc. Pitch looked better than it did under koko tho.

Charlton was 14th Jan, Blackburn was 4th Feb
Cartmell made comments about Allan Brown's job being on the line despite the recent 5-1 and 5-2 wins, in response to which around called him a "back stabbing rat" whereupon Cartmell sacked him on 6th Feb and it then all went a bit pear shaped

Ah, previous home game.

Odd to think after that Blackburn game it would be 41 years before we saw a team as good and efficient as that.

What would Walsh be worth today? £20m+ easy. Wood and Hart well over £10m each. Even Ronson would be 2/3m

I've only ever had my legs on the TV. Oldham away in freezing conditions. Hardle any away supporters for some reason.

A really good watch - the whole programme. Good football being played on abysmal pitches with no shirt advertising and no face-clutching.
