Seems to be a fairly open secret that Jones has been offered the job and he's asked to have the weekend to think about it. Alan Nixon tweeted as much and BlackpoolFC (avftt username not the club itself) has confirmed on another thread the same info coming from a club insider.

If Jones has provisionally been offered the job, and @4/6 why has the betting not been closed?
 
Because it's not public knowledge i imagine...and ok I'll re-phrase slightly, Jones has been approached, perhaps not formally offered, subtle difference I suppose. Either way the ball is in his court apparently.

Obviously the only people privy to the finer details of what's been discussed are Jones and the board. All I've deduced from what's been posted/tweeted is whatever offer the club has made to Jones he has asked for time to consider it. Whether that's an offer of a contract or just a phone call that said hey Nathan would you be interested in the job, I have no idea.

But agree, not my first choice, that would be Evo for me.
 
So there's no real evidence he's been offered the job and is considering the offer over the weekend?

I would hope tbh that the club would have set a timescale for applications and for interviews and not offered anything to anyone until that process is complete. Don't rush crucial decisions! Consider all options.
 
Other than an official statement can there ever be any "real evidence"? As I say Alan Nixon eluded to it in a tweet and he's normally ultra-reliable and BlackpoolFC a poster I've known for over 30 years confirmed the same info via a club insider he knows personally. Since he has told me who that person is and I know how and why he knows said individual I am 100% prepared to believe it as true. However, since you don't know me from adam I understand your skepticism 😉

I'm not being sceptical, just asking what evidence there is. Have those sources said Jones is mulling over an offer?
 
I've told you all I know, unfortunately, I didn't press my friend as hard on the details of what has or hasn't actually been put on the table to Jones, but the info is Jones is the guy they want, he is who they are actively pursuing and whatever offer has been made Jones has asked for time to consider it. That is all I've been told. It's all in the Alan Nixon tweet re Jones thread page 3.

I'm not claiming in any way to be ITK and I don't think any of this info is any great revelation tbh.
