The Deceased

I provided some investigative software for the largest supplier into this industry(Also the US).
The CEO told me we would be horrified about the number of missing bodies, wrong burials, wrong cremations and often empty coffins at funerals.
Even body parts get misplaced or lost.

It’s not great when you drill below the surface and the technology used is very poor. We are consulting now on the back of the Fuller report but it’s hard going so far.
Similar issue to what happened in a way in gambling - they know they need to spend money to resolve the mess in the industry but won’t do so unless demanded to do so.

There are tales coming out about families coming to view a body but not being allowed to see it. Coffin closed but not the coffin paid for. Which makes anyone wonder.

Or paying £400 per person to see the body. Three people that’d come out at £1200.

Even if I was the corpse I think I’d sit up and object at that sort of rip off.

I'm pretty sure it will have been about making more money, you pay for a service & you expect to get just that. As it's a delicate subject at an upsetting time this is totally unacceptable. We'll wait & see what the police unearth.

When my father in law was an auditor many many years ago, they used to go grave rodding. This was to check that there was the expected number of coffins in a plot, where they used to stack them on top of each other. 😦
In this case they have been arrested on 3 potential charges, 2 of which relate to fraud. The family funeral company was previously in financial difficulties and were in danger of losing their licence. At the time they were arrested the firm apparently didn't have financial difficulties. That makes you wonder exactly what they had been doing. Feel really sorry for the families, who may never know if they have buried their relative or scattered their ashes 😔

I don’t expect the dead will be too happy about this either.
Important they are now treated with respect and given a proper burial / cremation.

Looks like they were skint, kept the fees and didn't cremate.
