The East.

For all the pros, cons, reasons stated in the above thread one thing is is clear to me:

The new East Stand MUST move with the times and be rail seating!!!

Wherever, the away fans may be housed, the atmosphere will be “electric”.

Personally, from an ease of policing perspective, I would house the away fans in the North East Corner assuming one is in the plans and a quarter of the new east rail seating to away fans (with new commercially match day concessions you would expect to come with a new stand)
Any season tickets sold in the second section of rail seating from the “away quarter” will be with the proviso that they will be moved at the clubs discretion to the new East Rail Seating nearest the South East quarter to sell larger allocations to Away followings.
No ST’s will be sold for the new east rail seating section nearest the South East Corner it will be available on an individual match day basis.

The media and new disabled section will remain at the centre of the New Rail Seating East Stand.

Also no ST’s will be sold for the the half of A Block next to the North East Corner (assuming there is one) so a bigger netted off area can be provided for extra segregation as an option, for more “highly charged” matches.

And finally, any fucker standing up all game (excluding jumping up with excitement) will be ejected from the ground by stewards unless they are in the new “Rail Seating” East Stand.

I believe my proposal suits all interest of fan atmosphere, club’s commercial interests and ease of policing.

Don't think there'll be a northeast corner, the new pitches behind the north stand will prevent it.

The club have said repeatedly that they aren't looking at rail seating.
Doesn’t make it right though does it?
Everyone can change their minds, even Liverpool now have safe standing

Liverpool FC confirm safe standing areas at Anfield this season – for 13,000 fans. Liverpool FC have confirmed that the Kop and Anfield Road Stands will have safe standing areas after the safety certificate was approved for the new season, representing around 13,000 of the capacity.

Wondering what will change their mind though

Common sense?

1) It is more dangerous to stand in a seated area than safe standing and they’ve been unsuccessful in stopping the north standing!
2) To give fans a reason to use the East and improve segregation and movement away from the ground for away fans
3) customer demand, fans want to stand and sing, supply them with their customer needs, basic customer service

The senior leadership team are famed for their flexibility, customer centric and forward thinking so have every confidence they will change their minds 🙃🙃

Do we really think people will be happy standing in the side of the ground that gets all the rain or where you have the sun in your eyes when it's showing itself?

Reconfiguring the north to accommodate safe standing would be a better option imo.

Common sense should prevail but invariably it doesn’t.

This new stand should be a statement of intent, I have in the past doubted SS’s ambition when it comes to BFC so let’s see what he is prepared to do here.

Fuck 'em.

Every other ground you go to in the country has the singing section next to the away fans. If they don't put 'em there when the new East is built I reckon the North Stand'ers should just relocate to the South.
There is no such thing as a singing section and the South stand used to be full until they opened the North . The reason why the North is so popular is because it has more depth and more seats . If the South had as much depth ,you would find that most of the North would move back.

What? Of course there is. Every ground in the country has a section of their ground where the "rowdier" people congregate and generate that grounds home atmosphere. Label it however you want.

Towards the end of the 09/10 season that transferred to the South and stayed there up until the boycott. When we returned it went back to the North for some reason.

I'm Tangerine, I'll sing where I want to

I tend to agree!

In most of my 50 odd year supporting the Pool the Kop / north stand was never the “home end” it is only the last 10 years or so and we had a couple of years boycotting in that time.

Build a big East terrace with rail seating and put away fans in east of north.
The north has the worst concourses and they can easily segregate
Take into account the kop was off limits for home fans from 1985 until 2001.

Why can't excess away fans at Class A games be housed in the south-east corner of the South Stand (as Sunderland fans were around 5-6 years ago at Christmas). There's a natural segregation line down the stairs - away fans would have all access to refreshments/toilets in the south-east corner, home fans in the centre of the South. The north part of the East Stand could be used for 'quid a kid' or other promotions.

I have given you the reason and the South still sing . In some matches it has been the South that has had to face the away supporters when they have kicked off . Check nobbers and pie eater vlogs . Its a shame that our rowdier singers are 100 meters away.
