The enigma that was Steve McMahon Jnr

I am always curious as to what happens with players when they leave. Macca Junior will be 40 this year - I found the info below but anyone know what happened after Perth Glory?

Stephen Joseph "Steve" McMahon, Jr. (b. July 31 1984, Southport, Merseyside) is an English football (soccer)player. He is the son of Steve McMahon, the former Liverpool player and former manager of Perth Glory andBlackpool.

McMahon, Jr. played a total of 26 games for Blackpool F.C. between 2001 and 2004 and played 6 games forKidderminster Harriers F.C. in a loan deal from Blackpool F.C. in 2004. At Perth Glory in 2005 he played a total ofsix games. During his stay with Glory the fans gave him the nickname of MCJU in reference to an old episode ofThe Simpsons.

I vaguely remember Steve McMahon having a Barney with the broadcaster at Bloomers when the box was in the south stand above players tunnel Anyone else recall this?

I remember him having some issue with Allardyce at Bloomfield road when McMahon was managing Swindon. Something about listening to their team talk at half time. Somebody Allardyce had used to do it.

Calling him an enigma is giving him too much credit. He was easy to read. Nowhere near good enough.

I found this on a Perth Glory site....

Steve McMahon Jr (2005) Fans who currently deride Jamie Coyne for inept footballing skills had a much bigger fish to fry back in Steve McMahon’s reign as Glory coach - his son. “McJu” might have scored an early goal in the A-League for us, but his level of performance would have been state league at best. Indeed, youngsters such as Ryan Pearson would - under a fair coach - be fighting to keep him out of the side. Look at young Scott Neville, and you’d wonder how Junior would even hope to gain a bench spot with the ex-Sorrento player around.

The match announcer was the late great Chris Hull. Those of an age will remain as King of the Kop
Chris was ace. Used to sit next to him in the North. He was an undertaker and loved a cold snap in winter, he reckoned it was good for business 🤣

Haha! Met Chris many times and was a thoroughly lovely guy. Sorry to speak ill of the current incumbent but at least Chris had some passion and humour.
