The first Aussie or not?

Some debate on Twitter regarding the validity of the first part of this stat:

'As well as becoming the first Australian player to score in a club game at Wembley, Kenny Dougall is the first player to score more than once in a match at Wembley for Blackpool since Stan Mortensen scored a hat-trick in the 1953 FA Cup final.'

However, Craig Johnston scored for Liverpool in the 86 FA Cup final who I understand is also Australian but also played for England u21's.

So who was the first Aussie to score at Wembley?

Johnston, however I think OPTA are claiming that Dougall's the first Australian to score in a league fixture at Wembley, which I suppose the PO final is.

Edit: I always though CJ was an aussie but he was a South African so Dougall is possibly first Australian to score at Wembley.

Craig Johnston was born in Johannesburg but couldn't play for the Saffers because they were banned from international football in his heyday. Family moved to Oz but he's not an Aussie.

Opted to be eligible for England.

First Aussie to play in a Cup final was in 1954 was a chap called Marston for the Nobbers. He did not score and the Nobbers lost.

No change there then 👍🏻
