Boris Johnson is tomorrow expected to sign off plans at a meeting of the government’s coronavirus operations committee in an effort to stop the import of variants from abroad.
Believe it will only be for those countries with evidence of the variants of concern
Well better late than never I suppose - and it begs the question how do we know that the new variants aren't spreading within the countries where we are still letting people in
It is also being reported hat it will take up to three weeks to implement ! Difficult to see why exactly - main reason given seems to be lack of hotel beds
It is estimated to cost those entering the UK more than £1,000.
You are going to have to really want / need to come here to do that aren't you.
Or of course you might divert en route - though I am assuming they will have that base covered
