The Masters

My bet on Rahm a distant memory now. Three insipid rounds of 72 have him in no man's land. Putting letting him down as usual in a Major.

Anyway on the matter of putting I'm playing Rosey at 10s tonight as ace putting is what will be required on Sunday at Augusta. Roses putter has been hot all week. One more round from glory 🏆💚

How big was Speiths lead the year Danny Willett won.
Not over yet but having backed Matsuyama at the start of the comp I'm ready for the ref to blow for full time 😁

Be a shame if he didn't do it from here 👍The coverage is doing my head in, the way they dart between players gives no context at all 🙄

Barring disaster Matsuyama is home and dry.

Rahm moved right up today but as I feared generally little impact from the Europeans.I honestly never thought Rose could hang on as he is not the player he was up till 2 or 3 years ago. MacIntyre is going pretty well one for the future.I tipped Spieth ,Reed and Thomas, it looks like the first 2 of those should finish right up there without ever looking like winning..

A pretty dull day to be honest, Matsuyama has got round the corner so that's it done really.

Even a club golfer knows that if you had a lead like Matsuyama and playing a hole as dangerous as 15 you LAY UP!!!

My money is on a playoff from here.
I can see Matsuyama dropping another and I can see Schauffele getting another birdie

There aren`t many golfers apart from the greats who can play their best when they are in contention in the last few holes in the Majors as we`re seeing yet again.I`ve seen Schauffele struggle before when in contention in other tournaments.

I said on Friday morning when we were marvelling at Rose's-7 the day before that all he had to do was shoot -4 over the next three rounds to win.

At the moment Matsuyama is at -11 and going down the stretch I'd have backed Justin.

But as Butch Harman has just said 4 shots to win the Masters, go Hideki 👍🏻

The game is in the doldrums right now, there's no real stars or battles, it's too mechanical, everyone's afraid of losing their share of the prize money, are they over coached? Can they make themselves millionaires without winning much? I don't know, something's wrong.

Sorry Lytham dont agree.
I think there are more golfers who can go out and win nowadays than theres ever been.
It's taken away the boring processions by Tiger or Jack.
Yes, the swings are more mechanical but that's what you get with over coaching, development of clubs and the set ups of the golf courses.

I don't think the standard has got any better though, the scores haven't even with better equipment, Floyd was knocking it round Augusta in 271 45 years ago, anyone can win because no one is grasping it?

Is no one grasping it because the competition is better and more of them?

Rory, Speith, Koepka were all going to run away with 6/7/8 majors but it hasn't happened not only because of personal slumps but also down to the competition.

It's the way players are winning though, they're hanging on, the pack never seems to chase any more. Maybe I'm just getting old.
