The Met. .

For justice to work, it has to be seen to be done.
There will be ex-Post Office execs, Fujitsu employees and perhaps even some of their lawyers who know they are going to receive criminal charges.

Remember, this was a sustained campaign of persecution, corruption and lying that went on for many years, approaching two decades. Demanding money with menaces, conspiracy to pervert justice and perjury will be the least of the charges. There was no accident about it.

I think the Met will be finalising their list of interviewees (under caution) and will act soon after the General Election. We might expect there to be dramatic dawn arrests to make a point. The public demand it.

I want the CPS to go in with heavy boots on. I want every Post Office decision maker prosecuted, from the CEO down to the investigators, not just a few scapegoats.

Show all these people that their evil actions have consequences and that the defence “I was only obeying orders” is untenable. That is justice for the pain and misery they caused to hundreds of innocent people.

It was only a fortnight ago that the Minister was reminding everyone that a blank pardon would let criminals off the hook. Deflection at its worse.

Unfortunately, people in highest office very rarely face true justice...

Hopefully, the ongoing spotlight focused upon this travesty of justice will make it difficult for the barstewards to squirm their way out of it!

A number of people who were at the top of the Post Office must be very worried. Prison and removal of their PO pensions should be options on the table

The worst thing about the whole situation is the fact that those in charge lied about the whole situation.
Every PO manager wasn't told that it had been happening to most other PO shops.
They let every Post Master think they were the only ones involved.
If that isn't downright dishonesty and lying then I don't know what is.
The guilty ones should get an immediate Prison sentence.

If they , as it now appears, lied in court, that's perjury, & should have a jail term for all that lied?

Perjury, perverting the course of justice, for senior managers at the post office and Fujitsu I think there's a good case for fraud as well. Throw in some demands with menaces for the investigators and legal advisers and you have some substantial prison time. What is very noticeable is just how much they don't remember on the enquiry stand, but they have the right to not incriminate themselves at the enquiry, won't be the same in a trial.
