The Mick effect

Where do we expect to see the biggest improvement? I think MM is experienced enough to give us a boost in a number of key areas...
* Organisation - so we actually play like a team rather than a bunch of individuals. This will involve playing players in their appropriate positions amongst other things.
* Defence - being a no nonsense defender at a high level, I think we should expect a huge improvement here. I reckon his first signing will be a defender.
* Set pieces - if he were to watch a dvd of our set pieces, he would be in tears! We are absolutely shambolic, whether it comes to defending or attacking throw ins, corners and free-kicks. It's another area I expect to see a dramatic improvement under MM.
* Leadership - I think we are really lacking in this area on the field. A new more vocal captain perhaps?

I get all of that but I very much doubt he can implement all that when he’s only been in the place a couple of days, it will take time and let’s face it, he hasnt got a lot of that, we need results and we need them quickly.

One thing for sure is tomorrow is a huge game, there’s so much positivity around Applehead being removed and a new manager coming in, I hope so much the team can deliver tomorrow and it starts a good run of form for everyone sake.

Sorry for pushing this (yawn) but...midfield General to dictate the play.

Yes, agree. Build confidence tomorrow, build the team in the next few weeks.

I think we've already seen his biggest effect. It's nothing to do with tactics. He's galvanised the fanbase already. Positive comments. Bigging us up. Bigging the club up. That team will get an extra 10% tomorrow. I know them lot down the road might take the piss. But it's true, when the fans here are at it, there aren't many better in the league.

What're we expecting so early into his tenure?
We're in a rut, injuries are excessive and there's not much time to assemble a squad with the confidence and ability to put things right.
Think we have to be realistic; this appointment might not result in instant success.

I dont agree that Applhead lost the dressing room or didnt have the players playing for him. I just believe he over complicated things and the results were inevitable. I think team/squad spirit is ALL THERE and we just need to play the right players in the right positions at the right time, really that simple. I dont think Apples was a bad manager, just a wrong fit who like many mangers to justify their position, over complicate things when its really a simple game,
