The modern game.

Today's Beautiful game played by finely tuned athletes in multi million pound state of the art stadiums on pitches maintained by highly paid groundsman with master degrees in turf technology.
Back in the 70's the Beautiful game was played by footballers that smoked, drank excessively and ate pie and chips. Played in football grounds that had been built by the Romans on pitches that resembled a1st World War battlefield.
The only time players were injured were due to broken bones, matches called off if the groundsmans pitch fork had broke. Footballers and the modern fans don't know there born....

Back in the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's you very rarely saw the physio and his bucket enter the pitch, now sometimes two come on together to treat some soft shite whose sock has got dirty.
