The numbers behind Blackpool’s season

Had a deep dive into the numbers behind Blackpool’s first season back in the Championship.

A lot that matches with the eye test, particularly the number of clear cut chances the Seasiders let slip throughout the campaign.

Josh Bowler leading Kylian Mbappe for successful dribbles another highlight.

Good read, this. Question for anyone that knows - when and how does this kind of statistical info come into the public domain?

I have access to a system called Wyscout which lots of clubs use for analysis etc a big database basically.

In terms of free data available to public, Opta Analyst is a good website to look at, whilst experimental361 and statsbomb also release bits and bobs on their websites and social media.

Very interesting as usual that Sean, thanks.

Interesting CJ Hamilton stat at the end of the article. This matches the eye test in that he often flatters to deceive but, despite this, he usually creates at least one key chance per game.

Thanks Sean. Sort of backs up what what we're all thinking. A midfield general and a natural goal scorer required to progress next season
