The 'Opening Day' excuses thread

Brother in Law has just said his seat is free for the opening day (still not worked out how we'll let someone else use it!) because it's his 'work's golf day'.
Very poor excuse .. anyone else bailing out on the first day?
 
I thought if you go into the club shop they will convert a tkt to a paper one for someone else to use ?
 
Missing the first 2 Saturdays and the Vale and Derby games due to holidaying abroad.
Normally avoid the school holiday periods but got got our Grandson coming with us.
ifollow here we come.
 
My birthday is on the Burton opener. Wife said ‘what do you want?’

I said ‘I follow’.

No. It's not transferable.

What you'd need to do is to phone and tell them your phone isn't working type thing and can you have a paper ticket to collect. Give whoever your client ref no and address and they can pick it up.

I might be wrong but I think they can block your ST for sharing.

A corneal graft is no small undertaking, IBT; is this a trauma repair? I elected not to undergo this op, but I shall hope that it works for you.

I also see with tangerine-tinted vision anyway…

I had an ulcer that melted my cornea earlier this year and left it scarred to the point it popped and I had to have and emergency op to seal the cornea and inflate my eye. I need the graft to stop that happening again as I'm currently high risk of it, this is the only way to fix it so I don't really have a choice unfortunately. I wouldn't be having it unless 100% necessary as I hate hospitals.

I’ll be there. I’m usually away for the start of the season but I’m going a bit later this year, but that then means missing Lincoln away and Wiggin at home ☹️

Would like to take a pal who is a bit skint- did we work out a way around it

I'll be sipping cold drinks by a pool in at least 34 degrees C heat...

I'd take you all with me but I have to sit with you every other weekend anyway, so I do need time off from your ugly faces.

You could just as easily pay for the plastic card version of your ST...
 
First game is a nightmare for me. Wife's mates wedding - hardly know her, her fella or anyone who'll be there and yet 'it won't be the same without me'. Have planted the seed she'll have a better time with her sister whilst not mentioning that it's our opening game of the season .. that'll come later after she's invited her sister 😄
 
Apologies for absence from me . Myself & my sisters will be carrying out my fathers wishes & will be spreading his ashes on Kenley Common Surrey where he spent his childhood.
