The Pen

Talking to Bolton fan on the tram home, he was convinced it was a good tackle.

I'm undecided, need to see it again. There was a more clear shout 10 minutes later, which wasn't given.

The sending off was inevitable. If he saw it as a foul, it happened a yard from goal. Joseph had a tap in without the tackle

Watched on TTV and it looked like he went to ground, didn’t touch the ball but did touch Joseph.

Reckless from Santos.

Edited to say just seen the replay and it looked like he did touch the ball but went through Joseph in the process. Great play from Joseph to get in the way.

That shirt pull on Joseph.
Watched it back straight away, definitely open.

Ball going in the net OR Joseph has a chance of a tap in... Defender stops that by taking Joseph out from behind... clear goal prevented. Red

Looks a red .
Didn’t look anything at the time because Joseph just gets up but the replay tells a different story .
I’d be interested to know why he gave it was it the tackle or last man or a combination ?
Evatt was very unhappy at the end with the ref he’s going to get into trouble I think .

Joseph was slightly wrong footed and blocked the ball or stood on it as Santos went to make the clearance. Santos caught Joseph on the ankle first then the ball.

Bolton fans on their forum tending to agree it was a pen in the end but the sending off theyre not all happy about,

Interesting read on their match day thread. At half time theyre saying they can turn it round like they did at Cambridge while others say Cambridge were rubbish but Pool are half decent.

There's some saying we could be playing this lot in the play offs and a few calling for Evatts head.

Rules have changed haven’t they?

If it’s an attempt to play the ball then you can’t be done for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity because the punishment is a penalty.
Sent off I assume as ref deemed it not a deliberate attempt to win the ball as he went through the back of Joseph.

That dosent make sense
He was the last man so if you think it was possibly a penalty then it has to be a red card.
The ball was going away from the goal, no way the tackle denied an obvious goal scoring opportunity if indeed it was a foul
